A blooming rose in a bed of sand
She loved the man who wore a star -Garth Brooks
Streaks of fire lit up the midnight sky as the stargazer watched in wonder. What if one of those meteors contain a virus strain? she wondered, thrilled by the possibility of another living organism.
Suddenly, a blinding, pearly-white flash lit up the sky above Cavindra. Born from the small-scale explosion, a meteor the size of two talons put together thudded to the ground at her feet. Stunned by her incredible luck, Cavindra picked up the stone. Upon further examination, she noticed faint, glowing runes, thrumming with a power that seemed to come from the bolide itself. Despite her intelligent deposition, Cavindra was not one to read runes- but she knew someone who could offer assistance.
Post hoc, she found Elothir amongst rows and rows of filing cabinets, deep in thought. Interrupting the Skydancer from his fantasies, she asked,
“Do you happen to have any accounts on runes?”
The archivist, glad he could help, nodded and pulled out a drawer full of the cryptic, riddle-like letters. “Take as many as you like.”
Cavindra spent the rest of the afternoon pouring over the specimens, comparing them to her own and soon deduced that this was not just a meteor- it was the very tablet that the history of Sornieth had been recorded on! It told the story of how the gods were formed, the explosion of the great magic reactor, the birth of the Shade, all the ages, put together into one priceless stone.
That night, the stargazer fell asleep, feeling that she had changed history- scientists from all over had been pining Satele and Wrathion to come take a look at the fabled tablet.
Veritably, she had.
