Now you come to the second den, the one with open doors but no lights on in the room. Surely it's alright to enter, since the doors are wide open - after all, the doors to Nexus's den were only half-open, and he even called you in. Yes. This is solid reasoning, you tell yourself, as you approach. You listen at the threshold for a moment, but you hear nothing, so you quietly slip inside. Just in case someone is actually asleep in here, you don't bother looking for the light switch. Instead, in order to let the light come in from the hall, you step to the side of the doorway, and the room is once more dimly lit. There's not much in it, but it seems to have another huge corkboard on one of the walls. You can make out.. some papers on it...
The sound of the den's main doors opening reaches your ears in the near-dead silence.
Unaware of your presence, a Ridgeback enters the room on swift feet. From beneath a folded wing, she takes a few large scrolls wrapped with ribbons and begins untying them as she walks over to the corkboard. Unrolling them as gently as she can with her sharp claws, she flicks a switch with her tail, and overhead spotlights slowly brighten to reveal what's on the board. This time, they are... maps! Maps and coordinates to territories throughout the continent, labeled with... Clan names?
The Boardkeeper picks up some shed Ridgeback spines of varying colors from the ledge at the bottom of the board, carefully pinning up the new maps she'd brought. After briefly surveying her work, she turns to leave and catches sight of you. Freezing in her tracks, she nervously glances behind her, then back at you. Does she look embarrassed?
"Oh... hello. This is not mass-murder planning or anything," she says, gesturing in the board's direction with a wing, "these are just.. Clans we think are really cool? Yeah. We just like.. visiting them. Uh... if you find that you're from one of these, I - then - wow! Your Clan is amazing."
There's a pause.
She dips her head in a half-bow, and exits the room.
