Rusted Treasure Chest Some Secret Stash Hefty Treasure Cache
"The best thing about being a pirate
isn't the grog, or the shanties, or the
shiny doubloons...it's the mermaids!"

Debonair | Confident | Bold
Captain Bartholomew J. Sharpe - the tiniest privateer to ever sail the Pond of a Thousand Currents. With his loyal bumble first mate Mr Bee by his side, they set a course for adventure in their impressive vessel, The Flying Duckman - a toy sailboat with a rubber duckie figurehead. This speedy clipper can outrun the fastest of bath toys - even wind-ups and ones with batteries - something the fae is very proud of; indeed his pirate flag depicts the ship majestically overtaking a Sing 'n' Swim Baby Shark.

It would be a mistake to assume that the daring Captain Sharpe was your average run-of-the-mill buccaneer. Far from it. The fae comes from a higher class of freebooter, known as the 'Gentleman Pirate', or 'Urbane Corsair'. These suave seadogs adhere to a more civilised code of conduct. For example:

"No Mutinies - they are crass and impolite."

"Being late for plundering disrupts everybody's day. Do not be a time thief!"

"All booty is to be shared equally, as are all chores. "

"Under no circumstances should crewmates brawl. File grievances with the ship's HR dept."

"Do not wear white after Labor Day - we are pirates not savages!"

"Running with a cutlass is dangerous and could take someone's eye out, and is therefore prohibited."

"If you use a ship's mug, make sure you wash up after yourself. It is basic good manners."

Being a very small dragon even for a fae, what Bartholomew lacks in size he makes up for in personality. A smart and dignified figure, the Captain always makes sure he is dressed in his finest clothes, liking to look his handsomest before a raid. His wings are adorned with the Pirate Academy's logo - two nautical chonometers and the university's motto "We may be scoundrels, but we do it with style." A natural romantic at heart, Bartholomew likes to kiss the claw of a lady before he relieves her of her jewellery, and he has caused many a damsel in distress to swoon by swinging from the rigging while rakishly brandishing a blunderbuss.

The Captain's main territory is the lake of a national park on the west coast of the Sunbeam Ruins. A vast sea of unforgiving waves, monstrous pondlife, youngsters feeding ducklings, and his arch nemesis: Black Bellamy. The terror of the north shore, Black Bellamy is a full-bearded rival fae who clutches a knife between his teeth, and his dread ship - The Mallard's Revenge - has been responsible for the sinking of many swan boats and inflatable lilos. The two polar-opposite privateers have faced off many times, their tiny cannons often causing devastation to the local frog population. But, as Captain Bartholomew J. Sharpe will say as he winks a golden eye, "That's the life of a gentleman pirate my dear! Dangerous, daring, and devilishly good fun!"
