T H E M E:

A proud hedonist and socialite, Augustine is also one of Eloise's most trusted and valuable contacts. He's charming and his discretion is unmatched. Although not a permanent resident of the outpost, Augustine sometimes comes to visit, or brings a shipment or delivery personally. He's quite fond of the dim but opulent guest rooms, the grand dining room, the tea service. He appreciates the finer things in life, and his line of work affords him a great deal of them.

Augustine can get you just about anything you want (with a few vaguely drawn moral boundaries), but he doesn't like to get his claws dirty. He excels at the business side of things: drawing up contracts and convincing other dragons to sign them, moving things safely and quietly across borders, and keeping up just enough of an appearance as a wealthy and magnanimous merchant that no one will suspect the true nature of his work.

While not terribly intimate with most of the Crows, Augustine and Eloise remain rather charmed by one another, and often discuss their work over tea when they find themselves in the same place at the same time. He's also (unfortunately, in his opinion) familiar with Niko, the captain of The Resurrection. While cordial to one another, the two dragons have never managed to properly get along. Niko is too rough and scrappy for Augustine's taste, and Niko considers Augustine fussy and spoiled. Many of the other Acquisitions dragons look up to Augustine, Cricket in particular. He trails an admirable air of secrecy and old-fashioned glamor that aids in his work tremendously.
