Biography
K I L A N .
───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────ᐅ
he/they | fire
The interesting thing about air is that its currents and eddies are usually formed by heat. The sun’s uneven heating of Sornieth, to be exact.
And that was how Kilan managed to imitate a windborn dragon: any comments on his pale hazel eyes were silenced by his adept navigation of the Twisting Crescendo’s currents. It wasn’t as easy for him, to be sure: heat manipulation, without fire, was an entirely different skill than wind magic. But it worked well. Well enough that most dragons were satisfied by the assumption that he had some rare ocular disorder.
Kilan didn’t usually correct this, in part because he traveled so often that it was irrelevant. The coatl was most akin to a child of the Stormcatcher in personality: overclocked, energetic, and married to his work. He had seen many corners of Sornieth by the time he came to reside with the Haezans, but he was never completely satisfied. The clan, at least, had its roots in the Reedcleft Ascent, so its lifestyle and food reflected that.
He wasn’t unfriendly or unkind when he came to the clan, but he was individualistic, guarded, and motivated. Which meant that Kilan had the unnerving tendency to disappear for long periods of time, and where he went was never entirely clear to his clanmates.
