He still lay peacefully sleeping upon His bed of white roses.

Only she knew of what He dreamt. Some nights, the wistful moments were enough to make her weep, and they find it strange how tears can roll down their cheeks. They are a being who cannot, should not, cry.

But yet... they do.

He laments over the closed gaze of his beloved Ruler. Agonizes over the current despair that haunts their beloved Kingdom (that was once an Empire… but is now only a mere ruler-less domain). She mourns the days of their golden glory, when the world was perfect and all (including thy Deities themselves) lay before them with offerings in hand for a mere sliver of favor. If only what was then was still here for this now, but alas, all she can do is remain faithfully by His side.

All she could do was hope.

...and oh, how this made them seethe.
