Biography
They were perfect, living, breathing reminders of it all,
his weakness, his failure, and of her.
But he raised them nonetheless. He had no choice, really.
She’d left without them, left without a word.
But he would have anyway.
They deserved a proper parent, and even if she’d been present, it wouldn’t have been her.
So he raised them alongside the village’s children.
He taught them how to count, how to barter, and how to fight. He taught them right and wrong,
and he taught them they had no mother.
He taught them everything they knew to live happy and respectful lives.
After Annie left he wondered if he belonged in the same space as his father. As he grew up he was always told that he had no mother but he could always tell that wasn’t the whole truth. But he never felt the need to search out the truth. Instead he felt the calling for travel, not as great as some dragons. He set out to find a place that felt like home, taking odd-jobs along his way to pay for any expenses he may have. Among the jobs it was the delivery jobs that always brought him much excitement. No matter if it was a few letters or a package to a loved on, he loved the usual excitement he was met with when he reached the destination.
When he delivered a package to my clan they invited him to stay the night as the way back can be easily lost in the dark and gloom. Agreeing he found out from talking with a few people that they only had a temp delivery dragon since their old one had left very suddenly. He took it upon himself to ask for the job and was met with excited agreement. He’s not quite strong enough for the extremely large packages but Cypress is more than glad to help with those as long as he doesn’t have to go back to delivering mail.
