Biography

Nine
| Leader | Manipulative |

"Bow to me."

Everyone in the clan knew that Nine was always an ambitious dragon, but nobody saw what he was really capable of.

Nothing more than a simple insect catcher, Nine found himself displeased with his role in his clan. Other dragons would assure him that he was just as important as anyone else, but he knew that they were lying through their teeth.

For years he toiled under the command of one clan alone. It has always been his dream to someday be bestowed Leadership - to continue ruling the clan long after Xanthia, the mirror commanding it, was gone.

She was a fool. He looked up to her; he would do anything to please her, but who did she choose as next in command? A skydancer! A pitiful little skydancer who didn't know the first thing about leading.

Advimi was the Skydancer's name, and he hated him. Nine buddied up with him though, for he had a grand plan. A plan to retake what was rightfully his. It was when Advimi betrayed the Plaguemother and relocated their clan to the Gladehaven that Nine snapped. He couldn't keep the act up any longer.

A small fae at the time, Nine went through great lengths to uncover a magical scroll that would transform him into something bigger and better. Something stronger.

With newfound power, the dragon moved on to physically banish the former leader and took his place, certain that he would fix the broken clan. Advimi nearly destroyed it, but he will be the one to piece it back together into something magnificent.

He would show everyone just how great he was.

It didn't take long before Nine was overthrown, banished, exiled from the clan he had only just begun to rebuild, his efforts foiled and soiled.
It was all in vain, all of it, and with a snarl, he found himself alone, clanless...
At least until he saw the airship, and saw it crash.

His chance was upon him, the chance to make himself and what he'd build great, his second chance.
Only, destiny wasn't having that, either.

The clan already had two vying ambitious 'leaders' under a fae as their captain, and as luck would have it, they were both in the same regiment he found himself placed in. Under them both, no less.

He was livid.

A Fae, at the head of a clan? When he had failed to establish his place as a Fae so long ago? When he had to change his very being in order to gain even a smudge on of power?
No. No. Fate was too cruel, far too cruel.
And then there was his competition, both he'd have to get through before he could ever lead.
One was a self proclaimed God, the other an established, lethally trained, elected leader.
And both were five thousand times stronger than he was.

He bided his time with that clan for a while, hoping that one would knock the other out and weaken themselves in the process, but it never happened. No, of course it never happened.
His lot with the universe was cursed.
Without a word, Nine left them.
He left everything behind, every belonging he had accumulated in his short time there, the unfairness of it all burning vitriolic in his throat, the life leeching from the earth as he made his pathway onward, to someplace other than some happy, dinky clan with an already long established chain of command.

He was going to beat destiny.
He was going to roll the right numbers, play the right cards, muscle his way in if he had to - he was going to succeed. After all... It was only a matter of time before luck stopped favoring others and favored him instead.
How long he'd have to wait for that, he didn't know.
But he would gladly bide his time until then.
