Jaden

Jaden wasn't hatched to be elegant. She was a mirror, and she was built for vicious attacks that would kill as quickly as possible. She wasn't trained for that, though. They trained her for elegance, for appearance over practicality, to be a queen and not a foot soldier. It was strange, to both her and to others, to see a mirror move with such grace and fluidity. But grace she had in abundance, and she used it as she should. The training stuck well to her.

B I O G R A P H Y

Found when she just a hatchling, Jaden was brought to the glade by the loving Matriarch Jewel. The Guardian's small clan was made up of only five other dragons, mostly lost or abandoned hatchlings, along with her mate Zephon. They feared for her survival with the strange biomechanical parts that her parents must have build her. She was weak but survived and grew proud of herself. She was the daughter they never had.
Jaden started learning to fight young, mentored by Zephon. She liked a more elegant way to battle rather than go for the throat like many like her would have. As time passed she became a powerful yet wise dragon, beginning to see what Jewel wished of her clan. Slowly Jaden started training and learning to lead the clan, unknowingly being groomed to be the next leader.

Now the leader of Clan EverSpring after Jewel decided to follow her mate into the icy region. Unfortunately her skills were tested far before she was able to wield them properly. A nomadic tribe of longnecks trespassed on their territory and one of the the more violent dragons killed a few in punishment...it started a war between the clans. Outnumbered and severely injured the fledgling clan thought they'd be driven from their home or massacred. But as all hope was lost, a roar and a flash of dark blue scales turned to tide as the unknown dragon dispatched a good number of the longnecks and drove them away. Battered and a bit humiliated Jaden went to thank the stranger, who's only response was to fuss and start to clean her wounds. It seems the Gladekeeper sent a grand Guardian towards the land of ice in his Journey, he found his charge just in time as well. Jaden and Charge became mates quickly and with a supporting mate she has learned that war and hostility wasn't the answer. She strove for peace, forced to drive off the dragons that had started the war in the first place as they opposed her decision.She has since proven herself quite the Matriarch side by side with Charge. With her kind claws she's befriended and made several allies with local beastclans thanks to their kin having joined the clan and translating when they meet. Hard-worker by nature she's created the clan Jewel envisioned in the sunken glade beside the hills they call home.

Trying Times

A furious snarl bubbles up Jaden's throat as she gazes at the mangled longnecks Icestorm and his gang seem so proud of. "Do you have any idea what this means?"

His answer led her to strike out at him in pure rage. The pearlcatcher recoiled from her heavy claws. Just before a complete fight could break out the older Imperial Artemis slowly comes out into the clearing. His very presence quells Jaden but she glowers at the four bloodied dragons. Artemis wasn't pleased with the fact the longnecks had trespassed but Icestorm's reaction was completely uncalled for.

"You have brought us war..." He mutters after a long moment. Jaden worked her claws into the permafrost beneath her claws, longing for it to be Icestorm's mane or skin. She turns towards two young dragons and orders the longnecks to be given a proper burial outside the territory. Once they left with the bodies carefully in their hands Runewing comes to her leader's side, "We have to fight or we risk losing our home."

Jaden didn't want to admit but she was right, reluctantly she calls for her clan to gather for preparations of the fight that will break out in the morning. All but two females were recruited to ensure that the hatchlings are able to be moved to safety if the fighting gets too close. As soon as the first few rays of sun touched the tips of the trees Jaden had her clan up and trudging through the snow towards the longnecks current encampment. She tried to have them see reason but a war broke out

She wasn't prepared for the tribe to be so powerful! Dragons were injured left and right while it felt one longneck fell three took it's place. Jaden sustained many wounds from knives and spears, she had been separated from the group as they knew she was the leader. If she fell they would flee. As Jaden feels nets and ropes lay across her body there was a ferocious roar as a massive figure burst through the trees and barreled into the enclosing tribe. The fresh dragon was able to rally the less injured and together drove the longnecks back and had them flee from the territory.

Baffled and embarrassed to be helped from an outsider as they couldn't handle the fight themselves Jaden limps to the towering Guardian's side, clearing her throat she had begun a formal thank you. However when the Guardian's attention was turned to her he gasped and starts to clean and wrap her wounds fretfully. Turned out that this Guardian, Charge, has come the land of ice for his Journey...to find her, his Charge.

Jaden cracked with energy. Her wrists, her sides, her legs, her face, her back. Why had only her wings been left untouched? She frowned and dragged her claws down her shoulder. She couldn't feel her own claws. She couldn't feel her own shoulder. It was...intensely unsettling to know she was doing something and be unable to feel it. She tried to ignore it as she always did. She had grown up with the parts, but only recently did she begin to realize how incredibly strange it was for a dragon to be so...robotic. She swallowed, inhaled, and firmly shoved the thoughts from her mind. She had better things to do with her time than to focus on those little details.
