Biography

Guiatild the Merry
Scribe && Record Keeper
Mated to Midengal
Father to Riverstone, Swiftcreek, and Gietell

Guiatild likes to think of himself as Witchkin's protege, and maybe he is. Whenever there is business to be tended to, Witchkin is sure to bring him along, and he sometimes finds himself travelling with the caravans in her stead when she has matters to deal with at home. He keeps records of just about everything - business transactions, clan individuals and histories, recipes and instructions, and much more.

A true workaholic, he rarely has free time outside of clan business and caring for the extensive library he has put himself in charge of. When he finds he has nothing to do, he's the type to make even more work for himself. Oh, he really should get to reorganizing the books on the flora and fauna - ooh, and he should go through the recipes for medicines and potions and make sure everything is clearly legible! His title of Guiatild the Merry pokes fun at him for that very reason - he can never really loosen up. Still, he doesn't care what the others call him. They all end up turning to him for help eventually, and when that happens, they couldn't be more grateful for his nit picky ways.

Surprisingly, he keeps all his books, runes, ancient epitaphs, and specimens in his own lair. He has the biggest space cleared out of anyone in the clan, and it is filled with row upon row of scholarly texts and records, the shelves all crafted specially by the fae out of cured tree sap so they glisten and add light to the room. Others are always welcome in his library, so long as they don't disturb him or make a mess. If anyone causes trouble, they are usually quickly disposed of by his hippogriff, Starla (with the exception of Psojaaca, who is supposedly banned for life but often drops by anyway - Guiatild suspects he bribes the animal with food).

In the far back is where you'll find his small amber nest, suspended on the wall and high enough to overlook every row of his collection. It always seems to be sporting a new booby trap or two, an attempt by Guiatild to keep Psojaaca from snatching him up while he sleeps and dragging him halfway across the country on some hare-brained "adventure". They never seem to last very long against the tech savvy coatl, though, and there are days at a time when the pair seem to disappear. Luckily, Guiatild's mate Midengal is always around to look after things.

He is one of the few in the clan to know of the Ghosts on the Wind and their actions. All of the goods they pick up for trade have to have legitimate sounding backgrounds in the official books after all, and he and his mate Midengal, the record keeper for the Ghosts, corroborate in order to keep everything looking nice and unsuspicious.
