B I O G R A P H Y ______ Abyss was born in the deepest trench in the oceans of sonerith, where unknown beast of insane magnitude are as common as a passing butterfly. Born to a monstrously large imperial, Abyss is larger and more imposing than the average skydancer as an adaptation to survive the depths. Exploring the icey expanse, Neave was the first to see it, to hear it. The bone jarring splintering of Ice beneath her claws, echoing in the open air. She panicked, her crystalline wings poised for flight. Curiosity held her. All the best jewels were buried below the surface.

Cautiously, she peaked back at the ice. A crevasse tore through the earth starling the Skydancer to the air again. A thunderous crack bellowed from the new ravine, the through the echo she heard scratching, scuffling, tearing.

A set of shimmering claws pulled a pitch black being from the cracks, a set of winged furled open, sparkling blue dotting the surface. Horrified but mesmerized, Neave hovered in place, watching the spectacle gain its bearing.

It was a dragon, Neave realized with astonish, a brilliant dazzling Skydancer like her. And of course Neave, assuming the best of everyone swooped down to great it, so perilously black, but brilliantly blue like a gem, Neave could hardly help herself.

The being froze when she spotted Neave, dropping so quickly toward her. And as Neave landed gracefully, the dragon lunged. They tumbled through the snow, ending with Neave helplessly held by her throat.

She chirped and clicked in a language Neave could not understand. Then with a realization, she spoke, “Where am I, who are you?” She snapped.

Abyss realeased her neck, she gasped for breath, “My-my name is Neave! I come from a clan beyond these hills, to, to the west. I-I mean you no harm, I am no warrior.”

The dragoness considered this, and turned without a word. Leaving Neave to catch her breath in the snow.

Although out of breath, Neave leapt after her, “Wait where are you going?” She called after the Skydancer as she lifted into the air.

“Away. From here.” She put on a burst of speed losing Neave if only momentarily.

Panting, Neave persisted, “What’s your name?”

Aybss considered this. Again she made a clicking sound, and said, “Well, I guess it would be Abyss. Why are you following me? I attacked you.”

“Well yes, but it’s not your fault really, I did come out of nowhere.” Once again she lurched to catch up, “I saw you come out of the Ice, how did you get down there? Where’d you come from?”

Aybss resigned herself to the fact that she could not lose her new companion. “Well... The ocean is under the ice, I live in the ocean.”

Neave looked absolutely mistified, “Would you come back to the clan with me? I’d really like to know more about you. Only if you want to!” She added, the color flushing her cheeks.

And Aybss didn’t think she could deny her, the pretty little thing. They flew over the hills Neave staring the whole way.
