Eleai is the gentlest Mirror you'll ever meet. Perhaps she behaves so peaceably because she was born a Pearlcatcher. Or perhaps because she was born in an intelligent clan that resided in the Beacon of the Radiant Eye. Or perhaps because her parents were calm and very well-versed and raised her well. Or perhaps that's just how she's always been. Whatever the reason, she is a very pleasant dragon to know and to be around.
When she was young, she left her birth-clan to travel on her own. Her parents were worried that she'd be unsafe since she was a lone female dragon, but she reassured them that she would be safe and happy. She knew herself very well. As soon as she was able, she changed herself into a Mirror--an intimidating species--to protect herself and to ease the worries of her parents. She also knew that with her dream career/calling, she needn't the burden of carrying around her pearl. She also just felt that the overall build of a Mirror would suit her better.
Eleai knew her calling since hatching. There was a grand tapestry draped near the nest she hatched from. It was mesmerizing and beautiful. She wanted to know how it came to be. Her parents told her that some dragon had to make it and that they'd bought it in the marketplace because they too were mesmerized by the colors. As she grew, she started visiting the marketplace and came across these dragons that made these magnificent designs. She talked to them about their job and how they got into it and asked them how she could become like them. They were all so kind to her and encouraged her to be a tapestrier like them. They promised that she'd always find community among other tapestriers, since the role is less common than many merchant trades. She liked the idea of tight-knit community (pun-intended!).
After she left her birth-clan, she traveled a bit and found herself in Arcane territory. She was entranced by all the magic around her and started incorporating that concept into her designs. Shadowclaw--an Arcane Tundra--Leader of Vixen's Clan (mate to the Matriarch), came across her stall one day on one of his trips to the market for supplies. He loved her Arcane-inspired tapestries and inevitably bought one to surprise his mate with. However, he'd had such lovely conversation with Eleai that he kept going back to her stall during his market runs to chat with her. On one of those such chats, he learned that she considered herself a nomad and had no actual clan that she belonged to at the moment. He told her he didn't want to be forward or sound demanding in any such way, but that he would absolutely adore if she could join his clan. Since he was one of the Clan Leaders, he reassured her that if she said yes they would immediately make space for her. He also reassured her that she was absolutely welcome and encouraged to continue selling her tapestries, at this stall even, just that she could come home to the Focal Point after a long day.
Although she didn't mind sleeping in a tent made of her tapestries, she liked the idea of a home and figured that if the clan was half as lovely as Shadowclaw than it'd be a wonderful place to call home! She promised to think about it and the next week she took him up on the offer. Once she had a place set in their clan, she met a couple other clan members that she immediately liked. Her first friend was Magick--an Arcane Skydancer--who she actually already knew but didn't know was a member of Vixen's Clan. As a traveling dancer, Magick had met Eleai at her stall many times before and they'd shared many lovely quick chats. Seeing her here and hearing her gush about this clan made her feel confident that she made the right choice. Now the two could walk to the market together.
On one such day walking to the market with Magick, Tyrix asked if he could join them. A rugged but very friendly Wind Fae, Tyrix decided he needed to meet some new dragons and figured that the market seemed like a good destination for that. However, on the walk there, he made a new friend he really didn't expect: Eleai. They hit it off very well. He loved how warm and calm her personality was. And she adored how bold and chill he was. He started frequenting the market, spending most of the day watching her at her trade and keeping her company. He asked her about her past and her dreams and she asked him the same. They loved talking to each other. They talked about anything and everything. After many weeks, he finally asked her to be his mate. She laughed and told him she'd be delighted to be a more permanent part of his life. He had been a loner for a long while, waiting for someone that felt real, and he'd finally met her.
In general, Eleai is a very relaxed dragon. She doesn't easily take offense and can remain very calm in heated situations. This makes her excellent at customer service and at taking care of others in general. She is a very bright and loving dragon that makes the most of every moment and cherishes every connection. This is what perhaps made Tyrix fall so head-over-heels for her. She is strong of mind and heart and that is truly commendable.
