Duhaal was a wandering loner when he found Vokunkiir and decided to join her, starting the clan. Despite being bigger and stronger, his prime quality is loyalty, and he bows respect and admiration to Vokunkiir for starting something on her own.

Back then, Duhaal made use of his hardy build to set off on scavenging journeys for the clan. He used to vanish for weeks on end, exploring and exploiting the abiding boneyard in search of supplies. He often made use of his journeys to map the area, which led to the constant discovery of better lands to settle in and the subsequent moving of the clan. As the clan grew in size, he could no longer supply for the entire group and passed on his knowledge of mapping and scavenging to other dragons.

At one point, years after, the clan was already full and thriving. They had settled at Ribcage Cave and all seemed well. Duhaal set off on a gathering journey through the depths of the scarred wasteland which forever changed him. Nobody knows how but, by some blessing (or curse) of the plaguemother, or an unfortunate meeting with the wyrmwound, Duhaal contracted a mysterious disease. One that would not cause his death, but rather forever turn him into something monstrous.

He fell ill, only to come back as a most horrid being, a Ghoul of pallid skin and terrible hunger for disease and plague. Now Duhaal lives away from most dragons, in the shadows, feeding off sickness and rot. Although he retained his consciousness and sapience, it is now feeble, mantained only by the control of his hunger. Should he not feed his craving, one does not want to know what sort of creature he would become.
