Briarfoot is the steadfast mate and companion of the clan's leader Brambleyre. She is his equal and opposite in many ways. Organized where he is untidy, perceptive where he is confused, and wise when he is forgetful. When their leader is at a loss for decisiveness, clan members know to come to Briarfoot for help.

What Briarfoot does share with her mate is a love for living things. They'll often go walking together through forest and field, sharing their discoveries and befriending those they meet along the way. Briarfoot has a great affinity for plants, and when anything is in bloom she'll be there and wanting to witness every unfolding petal. She is practically absent from the lair in the springtime, feeling instead that she needs to be watching every unfurling leaf with laughing eyes at the rebirth of the world.
