Biography
Familiar: |
Heldentenor, or Helden, was looking up at the expanse of night sky from the crow’s nest of the ship. The night was quiet, outside from the gentle waves that rocked their vessel and the breeze that filled and rustled the sails. The sounds were familiar, background noise to him and did not capture his attention. No, it was the stars dancing on top of the upside down, dark floor that fully pulled the attention of the lone Guardian.
“What tune are you dancing to this night?” whispered Helden, with a slight puff of visible warm air exiting his mouth. Silently, a shadowy figure approached him from the skies and settled on the railing next to him. “Ah, Noctua, did you join their festivities tonight? What words were you able to exchange with them?” The owl gave a small hoot and fluffed up her feathers. It made the Guardian smile, “So they expect a cold front approaching our way?” Noctua gave another hoot in agreement and then flew to his shoulder. The Guardian gently stroked the owl’s belly, returning his sights to the sky. “It does seem like a fair night for a flight,” and he unfurled his wings, gliding downwards towards the helm where Clef was guiding the ship. “Good evening, Clef,” nodding his head towards with deep respect, even though he towered over the other Guardian. “Ev’ning, Helden. Are we still headin’ due course?” quietly asked Clef, so not to disturb the beautiful night. “As certain as the stars keep dancing in the sky,” replied Helden with a gentle smile, “Permission to go out for a night flight?” Clef chuckled, “Give me regards to Polaris while yer up there.” Helden gave another nod to Clef and then took to the sky. Indeed, the night was perfect for a flight, with the multitude of stars dazzling in the sky and the air refreshing but not too chilly to a pierce a dragon’s scaled hide. Making sure that the ship was still in sight, Helden and Noctua flew higher in the sky, feeling as though they could reach and touch the tiny dots of light with their own claws. Eventually, they steadied off and glided amongst the few clouds that obscured the sky from those below. Now they were within the sky’s halls and flying through the crowds of stars that filled them. Helden inhaled deeply and let out a long exhale. No matter where he traveled, across any waters, he could always found refuge up here – this would always be his home. |
