Jude left home late as she was held there against her will for a while, only able to escape upon reaching level 10. She lived to see her parents and all her siblings be exalted, instilling a deep fear in her. She had to be different, she couldn't end up like them. It was never a lie that she liked females more than males, but maybe brought more emphasis to being a lesbian instead of bisexual purely to be unique in her family and beg her clan leader not to send her to Tidelord(?) too. Her training was vigorous, she had seen many young dragons raised to be strong to be exalted, and she was terrified. Jude was not aware that this training was only to send out strong soldiers to clans who needed the protectors; she had only ever seen dragons raised to be exalted. When everyone's training was complete, they were to wait until smaller, weaker clans called them for help. (This is to replicate how the person I got her from trained up lv10 dragons to give to newbies my welcome week) Jude did not wait for that, and instead she fled. She was young and rash, but mostly driven by a deep rooted want to *live*. It was around this time she met a young Ibis, whom also was trying to find her own way. The wildclaw frightened her, but Jude soon learned they were both warriors looking for a home, and the two quickly bonded in the wilds.
Jude was still fearful after her traumatic experience, but her confidence grew the longer she traveled with Ibis. She learned she could even take this wildclaw in a fight, and it made her braver. She was still a little timid, but not as much of a coward, and the two eventually found a budding clan in Lightning.
The two leaders, Soren the tundra and ally Ao the mirror, were working to make a safer place for their family and friends. Jude liked the pair and felt comfortable around them, though not as close to them as Ibis. The pair surprised the girls when they had a clutch of eggs, as it did not seem like the pair were actually involved at all. Of the four eggs born, none was stronger than the seagreen tundra Dapper. Jude watched the new family with curiosity, her maternal feelings swelling inside of her. Maybe it would not be so bad to have children of her own. Though this, she decided to quietly court a male, gaining the interest of a mystery dragon while the clan was still small. There was no relationship and little love, but soon Jude had her own clutch of four, and the pearlcatcher was thrilled.
This joy, however, was short lived as the other tundra child died, and Ao fell ill. Entrusting the safety and care of the clan to Ibis, Soren and Ao vanished into the night with not a word, taking their remaining two mirror children with them and leaving Dapper behind. All at once Jude felt doubt run wild through her.
The father of her clutch was never much of a presence to begin with, but he aided not with the hatching of the children and he never treated Jude different than any other dragon in the growing clan after that. To this day she will refuse to name him, and only Ibis knows the truth, and will take her best friend's secret to the grave.
Jude moved her eggs out of the nursery during the mourning for Soren and his family, too ashamed to show her rash decisions to the rest of the clan. It was in the barren desert of Lightning territory that the four hatched, a perfect two males and two females, all pearlcatchers like their mother. Jude loved them instantly, pulling them close to her, and this only made it more heart breaking when one of the females collapsed. Jude tried in vein to rouse her, but the baby dragon stopped moving, and while she was busy, one of the males convulsed and fell with a dull *thump!* too. Jude was becoming frantic, pulling the last girl and boy close to her breast, but the female was cold. She had been born still. Crying, the distraught mother begged to keep her only remaining son; he was pale as death with her spots and her ice stomach.
She only felt relief when he at last opened his eyes, but then he immediately started wailing. His eyes were clouded over, blind, but swirling in an unnatural way. Was he seeing the dead spirits of his fallen siblings, gone too soon to even be named? Jude made the decision in that split second, her heart shattering further beyond repair. Even as she pulled him close and hummed softly to calm him, Jude knew she would not be his mother.
"You will be Ghost," she murmured, looking up at the rising run with tear stained cheeks. "For the brother and sisters you must live on for...and for the loss of your parents." A sob ripped through her as she held him close, the child calming down enough to coo in concern at her sounds. She knew that he could not know his disgraceful origins, it would only make it harder to bear his gift for the clan if he had family to worry about. But even as his eyes cleared, showing the beautiful lightning blue, Jude knew she would never stop loving him. Even if her choice to remain secret was for his own good.
Jude buried her lost children before returning back to camp, and calling a meeting with the other two leaders of the clan, Ibis and Viska. She wanted to tell him he was born as one of the parentless ones, and never have him learn that she was his mother. While Ibis was shocked and Viska furious at the audacity, it was a female's right to make those choices, so they agreed. No one else in the clan at that point knew of the happenings beforehand so there was little coverup that had to be done with the new influx of dragons and other hatchlings.
As time passed, Viska allowed herself to show a softer side and would take little Ghost into her care often as a child and try to help curve his bizarre visions. While he grew up orphaned, he was never alone, and Jude left him to her friend. She was proud of him when he became the next shamen, the wounds and trauma of the night of his hatching were healing, though sometimes he would snap his head around and stare right into her eyes, as if looking through her.
Jude herself grew braver and trained harder than ever, keeping her rank as head warrior and battle trainer. Many young dragons would come under her care, looking to fight, and they kept the clan strong and protected during times of her absence. Jude grew accustomed to the travel she partook in before settling down and was encouraged to become the clan's official messenger, to which she happily accepted. She found many dragons on her trips, like Anjelien and Norva and Littlemango, as well as their sister clan, a group led by a pair of tundras, Sol and Alba. Despite originally settling in Arcane, the clan has since moved to Wind, from which Jude still makes regular trips to.
