Biography

Midas
The Lone Warrior
TAilfjh.png
GR59sz7.png He remembered his mother the best. Soft, gentle, speaking in low tones. She was everything to him. As a son, he felt it was his duty to protect his mother, but she didn't need it. Not when she left him to go to serve the Lightweaver. The last thing she told him was to grow strong so that one day he could join the Lightweaver and her. His power would be beneficial to the goddess. Midas agreed to the demand. He would make his mother proud. She would not be disappointed in him! He would become powerful! A warrior to be avoided and feared in all eleven lands! Thus, he began his training. He marched from land to land, honing his skills against the masters. He battled warriors, bandits, thieves, pirates, and witches and warlocks. All eventually fell to his power. If he lost, he soon returned to settle the score. At one point, he felt himself ready to move on, but he did not hear the calling his mother spoke of. Despite his constant prayers he got nothing in return. The Lightweaver did not want him. Not yet. He wasn't perfect enough. Not strong enough. He needed to be more. To be something stronger than anything he had ever dreamed of. He needed to be... better. Better than he ever thought.

Becoming stronger was hard. Midas was a professional, a master of fighting compared to many others. Dragons he could not beat were few and far between, but one day, he found one. A small spiral. Despite Midas's quick movements, he could not defeat the twisting dragon. The winds that blew at Midas confused him and made him lost in the middle of the battle. He was blinded by flying dust, hit with flying rocks, and eventually blown off his feet. In anger and disgust, he left the spiral, determined to return and beat the dragon into the ground. That was when he discovered a clan. For years Midas had wandered the world without any home to call his own. He rested where he could, but no clan had the gift of him joining them. Midas knew before he met the clan leaders that this would be his home. The place he would train. After meeting with the leaders of the clan, he was assigned to some new recruits. He was to take them into the wild and teach them how to fight.

He hated them. Yet, over time, he grew to realize what he was missing. Compassion. Patience. Wisdom. The warriors he defeated had all of these things, so he didn't understand why it was important to the Lightweaver to gain these skills. Then he realized he lacked humility. The strongest warrior was nothing if they boasted about their skills. What good would he be to the Lightweaver if he couldn't master her basic teachings? Midas then took the new recruits further under his wings and began to train them. He exercised patience and humility. It was harder than he thought. But he kept at it until, eventually, he felt the calling. The pull to his goddess. He was ready to leave until he looked at the clan. He was their hunter. Their trainer. Without him, who would do that? Would they find some mediocre dragon to do his job? With a sorrow filled prayer, Midas apologized to his goddess. He couldn't leave yet. Not until this clan was in good claws. He felt the pull leave him, leaving nothing except warmth. His goddess had heard his prayer and had granted his wish. Until this clan, his clan, was prepared to live without him, he would stay.
