Biography

Ketsugo's Guardian

Vis was born to a realm covered in eternal snow. He claimed sanctuary where the small ferns grew, blending in as best he could. His scaleless form did not protect him. His color did not hide him. He fled the rigid Icefield in search of a warmer home. A warmer home he later found.

Vis stumbled across many lands in his search for a lair to claim as his own. During his travels he was mocked by others for his swamp colored coat, called a swamp beast. A slimy monster. A misfit. During his adventures through the Shifting Expanse he was struck by an unkindly ancestor, his body taking on a bright glow after the incident. Finally reaching the Plateu after traveling far, farther than many dragons, he collapsed at the entrance of a cave with a rather warm breeze.

Hime did no hesitate to bring in the battered and weary traveler. He recuperated and vowed to return the kindness he was shown. He took to memorizing the tunnels and learned to guide the others, exploring the parts unknown to the current residents so that they had nothing to fear. He had not left the inside of the cave since entering.

Eventually Visidian felt it was time to leave. These dragons had been kind to him, but he still had not found his charge. He set out once more, hoping to find his charge soon. Only a few days had passed and he was flying over the Sea of a Thousand Currents. He was growing weary, and there was no land in sight. With each passing moment he drifted lower, coming closer and closer to the water. Suddenly there was a flash of green and orange, and something dove into the water beneath him.
He didn't have time to wonder what it was, though, as he hit the icy waters and started to sink. He was already exhausted, unable to even kick out and try to swim. Lower and lower he sank, until it seemed that he wouldn't see another day, when suddenly he felt something beneath him and he could breathe once again. Regaining his breath, he looked down to see that it was a large guardian that he had felt, and that guardian was now carrying him towards the Fishspine Reef.

The next few hours were a blur. He had been taken to the Guardian's lair, and there was a great deal of questions and one spiral constantly running around him, checking for injuries and asking if he felt alright.
Apparently a skydancer from the clan had spotted him drifting towards the water and had gone to warn the clan leader, who was the one that had rescued him.

It was only after he was brought to the medicine den that things had seemed to calm down. Apparently his appearance startled the healer, who thought he might be sick, despite his arguments against it.
A short while later he had taken to resting in the nest that was provided for him. Xander, the clan leader, came in followed by a gnarled looking Pearlcatcher. Time seemed to stand still as Visidian looked at the Pearlcatcher. She was the one, of that there was no doubt.

"He's not sick, no. But he may be a bit dull. He looks like a dodo the way he's staring." The pearlcatcher explained.
Xander only grinned as he realized what was happening.
"And what's the matter with you eh?" She snapped.
"He's not dull, Ketsugo, he's found his charge."

Despite his appearance, having two sets of horns, snaggle fangs, and shining green skin with not a scale in sight, very few dragons in the Leaping Water Clan are scared of this gentle giant. Most of the ones that fear him end up being hatchlings that quickly grow to like him.
He spends much of his time with Ketsugo, much to her dismay.

History: Visidian is a long lived Guardian, having been one of the first in the Clan. He was a wandering, hulking beast shunned by many for his slightly grotesque appearance. Two sets of horns, snaggle fangs, a shining green skin with not a scale in sight. His swampy coat brought much shame to his nest in his ice-burdened home. He fled in hopes of a greener pasture, and is long overdue for a good loving. [Has a proper Bio]

Personality: Visidian, for all his unique and absurd traits, is a gentle giant. He does not fight, nor hunt. He is wise beyond his years but speaks little. The light in his eyes, though, speaks volumes. He is loyal to his last breath once he is accepted, and will fight to the death if necessary should it mean protecting those he loves.

Possible Positions: This old beast is best in a home where he isn't required to do many chores. A great baby sitter or teacher, also has strong genes for future offspring should any lovely dragon take him as his mate.

Where they'd like to go: Visidian, in all truth, just wants a home.

Anything else: This big fellow has been with me since I first joined, a gift not soon after joining. I have loved him for quite some time, but in revamping, I don't see him settling in like he used to. I ask he not be exalted, this poor beast deserves a bight future.
