"You're a sorry thing, all right," she said. "Clan kicked you out? Left you alone to starve? Well, you don't look like much, but as long as you're quiet and do what I say, I suppose you can stay for now."

"I can f-f-fight," the Sorry Little Thing replied, giving her a feisty and entirely unimpressive glare.

"No, you can't," Crimze said. "Your legs are so skinny it's a wonder you can even stand."

"C-can too..." the Sorry Thing mumbled, feathers drooping at her rebuke.

"Prove me wrong then," Crimze said, turning away. "I dare you."
