Purveyor of Goods
|
Looking for something? Something hard to get? Something you don't want others to know you have? Well then Lynfa has what you're looking for. A purveyor of goods from the mundane to the taboo and morally suspect, there is not a thing Lynfa can't get you. Most of her sales are completely above board; trinkets, fertility statues, and knick-knacks. But those with more discerning tastes (and significantly more money) whisper about Lynfa's stock room, full of things beyond a dragon's imagining. Many suspect that Lynfa's own daughter, Cousat, wasn't adopted through conventional means at all. Both mother and daughter deny this accusation however, and maintain neither of them would ever do anything so heinous. No matter what the truth is, both Lynfa and Cousat have found a home in the lair. Though some dragons have objections to their shop, most dragons are content to live and let live in these troubled times. Moral objections aside, Lynfa and her daughter have proven to be very useful members of the lair. Lynfa's shop does all sorts of business and has been instrumental in helping get goods for the lair during times of both peace and crisis. Lynfa's blunt and confrontational nature hasn't helped her win too many friends but many of her customers find that's what they appreciate about her. Lynfa doesn't tend to cultivate or encourage friendships, her family, which has expanded to include a grandson she's desperately proud of, is all the social connection she needs. If someone wanted to go into business with her however that's a different story. No matter the time of day or night, Lynfa is always ready to do business. This has endeared her to a subset of the clan's younger members who come across a variety of curiosities on their 'adventures' and want a bit of quick cash for a festival. |
Never very open about where she came from, Lynfa avoids talking about her past. However, the pearlcatcher who regularly visits her shop has raised some suspicions about Lynfa's mysterious history. She also avoids talking about her son, whom left the lair to travel one day with no discussion to anyone. Whether or not she is still in contact with him, or even if he's still alive Lynfa won't say. It's best if one wants to remain in her shop, they don't bring him up. The only sure thing about the bogsneak is that she hatched in the Starfall Isles and likely grew up there if the stories Cousat tells are anything to go by. Her history since joining The Sable City is more apparent by some measures but equally murky in others. Since as far as anyone can tell she rarely leaves her store it would seem Lynfa isn't up to much. This being said, while many dragons have seen or even bought some of her rarer goods all her shipments appear to be of the mundane knicknacks and trinkets that make up the majority of her inventory. While a few dragons have their suspicions that items are smuggled in these shipments, no concerned dragon has been quite brave enough to perform a spot check on the contents. |
