Savil

An Awoken Hunter whose fierce loyalty to Queen Mara Sov and the Reef as well as her severe mistrust of other Guardians left the Vanguard wondering if she could be depended on concerning matters that didn't in some way involve or affect the Reef or the Tangled Shore. All of the Vanguard officers except for Cayde, that is. Cayde took the time to get to know Savil and to learn her story, and he discovered the source of her trust issues; a rogue Guardian who, during a mission involving Savil's best friend- an Awoken Corsair named Zalraa- and her fireteam mate- a House of Wolves Eliksni called Reviks- turned on them mid-mission, leading to Zalraa's death and Reviks's capture by the enemy, where it's said he lost his life. The Hunter Vanguard is the only one she trusted enough to tell the full story; Savil, when she heard about this, infiltrated the fortress where Reviks was being held, and was about halfway to him when he was killed. She hunted down the traitor Guardian and shot his Ghost before putting a bullet between his eyes. Savil even admitted to Cayde that shooting a Guardian's Ghost first was a trick she (unintentionally) learned from Pirrha, the Rifleman, during a battle where they were both present on the battlefield. Cayde helped to show her, in time, that most Guardians chosen by the Light are loyal to their comrades and his constant patience and care for her has led Savil to open up, first to Ikora, then eventually to Zavala, and the four became extremely close. The Hunters consider her to be their Vanguard as much as they do Cayde and hold her in very high regard.
