B I O G R A P H Y

A dragon of mystery, plague, and fire, Epitaph has always been somewhat of the the odd one out in her clan. Born of plague and fire, she was taken in at a young age by the clan of Aguirra, and practically raised as the child of Sarilith, who had seen something special in her, which the rest of the clan did not. The old guardian had taken her as his charge upon the day she arrived, and he hasn’t left her side since, even if it is a well known fact that she can easily fend for herself. Many dragons of the clan feel uneasy around her, due mostly in part to her natural flammability, and the thick, almost explosive oil like fluid that fills the translucent scales which run along her neck and stomach.

Bearing a gift of future sight, Epitaph spends much of her time on the outskirts of the clan, usually with the other magically inclined dragons, such as Fitcher, her closest friend and accomplice in many questionable rituals and activities. She resides in a small woven nest, hidden high within the trees and away from the noise, but close enough to her bog dwelling friend so that she may simply glide to and fro for communication and company. Her amber nest is a brilliant and near blood red unlike the common golden color of most Fae nests, and it is believed to be this way due to the fact she not only makes grand treks to the Scarred Wasteland to find the treasured substance, but uses her blood as well to enchant the sticky sap with powerful magic, granting it strength and further protection from the elements and predators of the outside world.

She takes heavily from her mother, retaining the same inky qualities as the Fae dragon, and the incredibly rare, but even more incredibly violent tendency to tack down and torment dragons- primarily those who do her friends and clanmates wrong. It is unknown to others, spare her closest friend Fitcher, and Aleena, who had happened to be present at the time of one particular incident. Both keep it a secret, however, Fitcher out of loyalty, and Aleena out of simply seeing nothing wrong with her actions, and even viewing them as justified under the circumstances in which it happened.

Epitaph is not one to shy away from flirting, should another dragon catch her interests, but also keeps herself only somewhat reserved, waiting only for a special mate to choose to be her partner for life. When around friends and her clan, however, she acts surprisingly sweet despite her looks and habits, and enjoys talking with others and going out on strolls when she is not busy or telling fortunes. She is a genuinely kind hearted soul that only wants what is best for those she cares about, but is also not afraid to bring revenge upon those that wrong herself and others.

____She takes a heavy interest in magic and fortune telling, foreseeing the grim outcomes of the futures of others, whether they like it or not. She wishes to protect them from danger, even if her prophecies are morbid and vague enough to make it sound more like a threat than an attempt to help. Other than fortune telling, Epitaph takes to enchanting objects rather fondly, granting them with good luck or durability for others, especially when it comes to tools and other important items needed for the wellbeing of the clan.

____As a side hobby, Epitaph enjoys collecting things like bones and materials that can be used for magical spells or charm making. Often times she will craft decoration, charms, and even apparel with the bones and other odd materials the finds, creating clothes for herself and others for fun. All of what she makes is enchanted for luck and prosperity as a standard, and upon request she can always add further enchantments as needed.

_PHYSIQUE_

____Epitaph is a small dragon with a thin frame, and near pitch black coloration. She is naturally oily, her scales possessing a filmy sheen wherever the oil covers. Should the oil be set on fire, it possesses a brilliant glow, and small flames which burn at a low temperature, making it a fairly small risk to her surroundings, lest she wishes for it to cause damage and charges the flames with powerful magic. Her stomach and neck scales are translucent and reveal her innards to be not like any average dragon’s innards, but instead made of the same oily, inky substance that her mother is made of, bringing to question of just how much of a dragon she actually is.

____Her eyes gleam with the vibrant red coloration of the plague element, and almost seem to glow when in pitch darkness. She possesses an intelligence to her blood red eyes which almost seems otherworldly, yet at the same time, blank, and cold despite her fire bound talents. Each of her claws glow as well with a intense red heat, serving as light and decoration for the dragon, though their sharpness and natural disease carrying capabilities still creates a real danger, should one become too close for comfort.
