Biography
"I am Thou. Thou art I."
Once upon a time, hundreds of moons ago, they were called the Children of the Storm. Growing peacefully within the Stormcatcher's protected Expanse came forth the union of Roc and Sinbad. They lived out their lives in blissful optimism, helping friend and stranger alike for nothing more than a smile or story. For their efforts and positivity despite their trials through life, they were rewarded with a beautiful storm on the horizon. One so powerful and brimming with electricity to collect that the clan raced across the sky in no time at all. And in the heart of the tempest, the matriarch's son found the most curious of treasures. A prism as large as the Imperial's talons and shaped like an eight-pointed star that was protected by a magnificent entity of a long-deceased demon; Baal. This was the clan's first interaction with an Einherjar. 'The roaming soul of an ancient dragon sent to the living world in order to retrieve spirits that refuse to find their final resting place.' That was the definition given to the clan by another Einherjar, Marc. The purpose of an Einherjar was to protect the living dragons, those he called the Arcana, from the dark influence of these malevolent spirits. It was odd, however, that these two Einherjar were even visible to dragons who bore no spiritual powers save for their electrifying magic. Wanting to study this strange phenomenon, Marc took to studying the clan who discovered Baal and the prism. Despite Marc's best attempts, it was futile to study this object without the proper equipment. The unstable magnetic energies and severe lack of magic-shielding materials made it impossible for him to study the strange effects of this crystal prism without inconsistencies. Relaying this information to Roc, whom he swore his loyalty to, she offered that he and Baal could take the prism to her close friend in the Starfall Isles. While potent in magic energy, the Focal Point was known to have caverns of Celestine that keep magic trapped safely within its walls. This suggestion soon ballooned outwards, catching the attention of the rest of the Stormchildren to the point that the entire clan decided to move along with them. So began the great migration to the arcane territory, where an array of new adventures awaited them. No sooner did Roc's stormchildren move in with their allied Clan Soulverse did the tireless family of dragons pick up right where they left off in terms of creating devices even deities had a hard time comprehending. In their studies of the sky and other celestial beings, Roc and Sinbad had attained the power of the stars. Their hides that once rippled with the magic of Lightning lost their sheen, only to be replaced by stardust that now weaved through their manes and blessed the pair with arcane magic. Together with their children and coworkers, Roc and Sinbad created an apparatus that could drive on trails of stardust that frequently danced across the Observatory. With this creation working in unison with their powerful magic, the clan leaders created what is now known as the Stardust Rails; a system of stardust pathways that could deliver a massive amount of goods all across Sornieth, or that could simply create a bridge of stars for the clan to traverse. It was during this time that the clan changed its name to Siduvronti, a consummation of lightning and arcane power words that signified their mixed allegiance. |
It was around the creation of the Stardust Rails that Marc reached a breakthrough with the Star Prism, with the help of a new Einherjar that went by the name of Arsène. Curiously, while most Einherjar sought to create a permanent bond with an Arcana in the form of a Confidant, Arsène had no such partner. Instead he made it his role to protect the Clan of Cosmic Lightning and the star prism as a whole. This prism was a powerful relic of an all but forgotten war between Pearlcatchers and Imperials known as the Catcher Games. As a side effect of this 'Morningstar'-Arsène seemed adamant to call it that- Einherjar were able to coexist with the Arcana in a way that did not require a dragon to have impressive psychic capabilities. All manner of Einherjar are instinctively pulled in by the Morningstar's aura and the clan was forced several times into combat to defend themselves. In order to protect the clan and their territory, a sub-clan dedicated to raising warriors was brought to light under the watchful eye of Giovanni. Led by Icarus and Lotus of the Tangled Wood, they were dubbed the Ravagers. Eventually, despite the honorable exploits of the newfound warrior's guild, the Clan of Cosmic Lightning packed up their bags and moved far to the south. It was Roc's wish that no other creature would face the threat of these malevolent EInherjar. It was... a painful farewell. Those who remained loyal to the Siduvronti prepared to never see their loved ones again, and they tread the trails of stardust tirelessly for three days and four nights. The pilgrimage was cut short by the promise of a sudden blizzard in the Southern Icefield. A storm so terrible that the already exhausted clan was forced to seek shelter in unfamiliar land. Fortunately, Starchild had discovered a cavern large enough to house the dragons of the clan for a few nights while the storm blew over. The winds blew endlessly for three more nights until, on the dawn of the fourth day, the sun finally poked through the clouds to greet the exhausted family of stormgoers. A beautiful day that even Roc could never forget. And while the hunter-gatherers of Siduvronti scoured the frozen plains for food, The Ravagers scouted a mountain nearby that looked to be scraping the sky from its sheer size. At the edge of the world, it was the most ideal home for the travelers. And imagine their surprise when this massive structure that almost shamed the world pillar turned out to be hollow from within. And even more curious... there appeared to be a pacifying barrier that calmed even shade-touched creatures if they crossed into the vicinity of the mountain. Perhaps, finally, the Clan of Cosmic Lightning had found their forever home. Oh... If only that were true. |

"Arsène?" The tired imperial's eyes opened sluggishly as he craned his neck to face who approached him. Zinnia. He dipped his head to rub his snout to her own in greeting.
"Yes, Summer Blossom? Do you require my aid?" Zinnia's crest flattened almost timidly in response. "No, but you looked awful sad and alone down here. Are you okay?" Arsène exhaled softly, his breath coming out in a fan of mist as he looked on towards the dragons before him. Dreamers, all of them kept from the release of death in this room of rest. Within the cramped walls of the Velvet Room lay the previous mothers and fathers of Siduvronti. All those of the Arcana-class that nearly lost their lives over a moon ago protecting what they believed in. Never in his many years wandering the land of the living, never did Arsène think he would grow so attached to them. He could not put to words what he would give to see them awake again, to see their smiling faces as they greeted him each morning. But, he could not wake them. Each dragon inside the Velvet Room was teetering on the edge of death and in this room, just below the morningstar's hiding place, they could survive. It will be a slow process, healing their grievous wounds and mending their torn essences, but it was here that they were safe. And it is here that they will one day wake up from dreamless existence. Arsène breathed in heavily, only brought back to the waking world once Zinnia pressed a claw to his chest. His smile was weak. "I am fine... just reminiscing on the past."
