Aarao was born to a mighty clan deep in The Great Furnace. His parents only came together for this one mating as his mother is too occupied with her scouting duties to have a permanent mate. His father returned to his home territory of Lightning, where he was involved in a major accident and is now resting within the Stormcatcher's arms. Aarao's nest-mate Incendia passed away as well. She was a priestess for the Arcanist, and took an urgent message to him, passing away from the stress of her travels as she had always been a slight and sickly dragon. Aarao was the lucky hatchling. His egg bore the Flamecaller's sigil, and his mother immediately promised him to the clan leaders for fostering. He was raised by 2 of the most talented metal-smiths within The Great Furnace. Aarao has always loved to learn, but he is not 100% sure he wants to be a metal-smith. Aarao is being more and more pulled towards the spell-crafting side of metal-smithing. During the last year of his apprenticeship with his foster-parents, he approached them and asked if they would be able to arrange another apprenticeship with their clan's premier spell-crafter. Both of them were very supportive of his wish to learn the spell side of metal-smithing, and just gently encouraged him to keep practising his smithing techniques, as once he has learnt the spells, he will be able to make weapons, shields and other items worthy of the gods. Aarao has spent 10 long months learning all that his Master could teach him, and now is attempting to create his masterpiece to finally graduate to master-hood. He has retreated to the inner lair of his home clan, deep within the Great Furnace. He sets up a circle complete with a alter to the Flamecaller, and invoked the 4 winds and the elements to bless the alter. He places charcoal and draft paper on the alter, and then turns to place the mythril, platinum and assorted gemstones in the 4 cardinal directions. He then brings out some sage and lights it, waving it around to cleanse the circle. He then settled down into the circle, closing it and beginning his meditation upon his masterpiece. As Aarao meditated, the gems and metals rose and began to circle around him. As Aarao meditated, he sank deeper and deeper into his meditative state; and he started to see a vision of the past. He observed himself in his egg, it was a night not long after his egg was laid that the Flamecaller came to his egg and slowly laid a talon upon his egg. As soon as the Flamecaller touched his egg's shell, his egg was marked by the sigil. The Flamecaller then leant down and whispered these words to the Aarao slumbering inside his egg. "Grow strong, my Chosen one. Soon as you grow, you will have a world of work to do for Me. You will grow and learn all what is taught to you, but as I have seen in my vision, you will become a great Metal-smith who is also an Enchanter. The works you create will change the world, and you will do Me proud." The Flamecaller then left, and Aarao drifted in his mind. As he drifted the plan came to him. He reached for his charcoal and paper and begins to sketch, still within his vision. As he finished the final details, sketching the last runes; he finally awakens from his state. A large smile adorns his face as he takes in the masterpiece of a design his vision has planned out. He then cleaned up his circle and alter and hurried to the smithy to begin the long, long process of smithing, spell-casting and polishing his master-piece. Aarao has spent 3 long months working upon his masterpiece, and will soon depart to face the elder smiths for them to judge if his piece is worthy of a mastery. Once he has been accepted (he hopes and dreams) he will depart his home clan to travel and learn of Sornieth, to further his ideas for his works. Aarao looks forward to this time, and as he flies towards the peak of the Great Furnace, he begins to day-dream of the great works his travels will produce. | xxxx |
