Born to darkness, a beloved secret hidden away, Naoki was raised apart from any clan. There are some out there that would seek her death for nothing more than living in this world. The clan one of her mothers resides in, the one her other mother bitterly calls a cult, has banned her existence, and her mothers’ love. Raised by her other mother, Azami, a courtesan with a secret past, Naoki was rarely allowed to go outside, until her mothers believed she was ready to face down potential threats.

Naoki was trained by her mother in dark and forbidden magic when she was able to sneak away from her clan, and she was also trained secretly by Azami in the ways of the blade. Her skill with the sword developed quickly until She became a master of it. She began to trust in Her blade above all else, and it makes Azami nervous. She knows better than most sometimes even the most skilled fighters fall.

She is now ready to bid a loving farewell to her mothers and set out to find a new home.
