Blucher slowly awoke. She stood wondering what today would be like with Shade. She wanted to scream and cry just at the thought of the dragon. It was her charge. It was the one thing she would have to protect until the day she died. Yet it didn't care, well it didn't care about anything. It was an animal in dragons skin. It has never been able to talk or even seem to form coherent thoughts. It just hissed, scratched, and attacked like an animal. But sometimes it could be good. Like yesterday, it was calm he wasn't pulling on the chains that held it. It didn't run at the dragons that passed it. It even let the female come up and pat its head. She was also able to heal the wounds it inflicted on itself. Those were the best days. Those were the days that Blucher thought about when her past started to overwhelm her. Those were the days that the female thought about when the wretched creature acted like it was today.

Blucher started to walk towards the creature's chain with hope in her eyes. It had been really good the past couple of days and the female was starting to think that it might be getting better. Maybe it was finally taming down and wanting to accept her as its caretaker. For that's what she was. She fought anyone that said the creature should be killed. She provided it with food and healed its wounds. The female briskly walked towards the center of the town. She stopped dead in her tracks at the sight that greeted her. It was calm! She thought with joy. It laid by his post his head in its lap, a clear sign that it wasn't going to act up. The female quickly approached with joy filling her heart more and more with each second. Then her heart broke, shattered into a thousand tiny pieces. The creature leapt up and lunged at her. She was just in range of its chain and didn't have enough time to move back. It went right for her chest plates, going for a kill. Luckily for the female she wore her silver armor and the creature's claws only scratched across the cold metal. Her armor might as well not even be there, for her heart felt like it had been torn to shreds. She finally thought her charge would be normal and good, but no. It was just as wild as ever. Yet she couldn't find it in her heart to be mad at it. Deep down inside she knew one of the main reasons she stuck with him was yes because of her instincts, but she also needed the creature as much as he needed her. Without it she would have nothing. No reason to live, no reason to get up in the morning, nothing. So the female took a step back and let the creature lunge at her and try to cut her to pieces. And she would for everyday day until her last. For she loved the creature, charge or not.
