The earliest memory that Shavira had was of the cold floes that she called home.
No parents, no siblings, no other dragons that she knew. Only the ice that bobbed in the water and the howling winds that echoed across the floes.
Despite all that, she couldn't help but love the world she knew, and it seemed as though the ice whispered to her in the night.
And upon a night of a full moon, a giant dragon seemed to soar over the skies, awing her on her lonely little floe, the dragon's wingtips sending flurries of snow down overhead.
One landed on her muzzle, a soft but cold kiss, and Shavira swore she heard a voice echo in her ears.
A voice that whispered one word to her; a name that she adopted out of awe and comfort of the strange dragon that brought the soft flurries.
And so, she became Shavira.

As Shavira grew, she learned from the other creatures she saw how to feed herself.
Though she despised the taste of fish, she learned from the marine creatures how to dive in and steal plant life from beneath the waters, as it was difficult to find such foods along the floes.
But she used this to her advantage, and she even began to love the feeling of the frosty water against her fur.
Often times, when she wasn't alone on her tiny ice plain, she would be in the water, foraging for foods that she could store for later, or just existing within the waves.
And yet, despite her love for water, she wouldn't stay forever.
For, when night fell, she would return her gaze to the sky.
Often, she had thought back to that soaring dragon; of how they were larger than the sun and moon combined, of how their very existence brought gentle and cool flurries of snow. Of how the snow would come down, soft and sweet, pressing kisses along her face.
But she never did see that dragon again.
Only cold stars, glittering in the sky, the moon casting it's cool light onto her.
But she never stopped searching. Waiting, and watching for the day that maybe, just maybe that dragon would soar overhead once more. And yet, with each passing day, she felt only lonelier and lonelier.
She would wait for that dragon, and yet they'd never come, and each time she couldn't help but wonder if she had imagined it.
Perhaps loneliness had clogged her mind and altered her memory.
Perhaps she didn't see the dragon, and only saw a cloud that looked like one.
Either way, it only hit her more that she was utterly alone.
Shavira would sort through her plants during the day, trying to figure out when she'd need to resupply her stocks, and often times the same thought would swirl in her mind;
Why?
Why was she alone?
Why was there no one to share a life with?
Why did she keep doing this, even though she was alone?
One of those same days, for the first time since she could ever remember, she met a dragon.
He was a young, bright-eyed Tundra, and he watching her closely as she worked.
Eager for interaction, she approached him, her tail twitching as she returns the gaze of this young hatchling.
"Are you alone?" She asked.
"No," he replied. "You're here."
Confused, Shavira continued.
"Oh... Do you live nearby?" She asked.
"Mmm... No," the small hatchling replied, his fluffy fur whipping in the wind. "Well... Yes? I dunno."
"How do you not know?" Shavira asked, only becoming more and more curious.
"We're moving."
"We?"
The small dragon then gestured upwards, and Shavira saw in the sky what looked to be twenty or so dragons, circling ahead as one of them seemed to be reading out directions to the others.
Shavira tried to make out what the leader of these dragons was saying, when a dragon came soaring down, her wings fluttering with annoyance.
"Who are you?" She accused, stepping between Shavira and the young dragon.
"I am Shavira," Shavira replied.
"Why are you speaking to my son?"
"I did not know this was your son," Shavira replied.
"It is, and you'd better not be trying anything," the tundra female replied. "I've had enough problems with Beast Clans trying to attack him while we're moving."
"Beast Clans?" Shavira echoed.
Now the tundra female was confused.
"Yes... Do you not know of them?"
"No...? I've not left the Frigid Floes for some time," Shavira said. "Or... Ever..."
The female tundra's gaze softened, as she looked over Shavira.
"I see. You're Clanless, aren't you?"
"Clan...less?" Shavira echoed.
"Without a Clan. Without kin and friends... Without a family."
Shavira's response was a shocked silence.
Clans?
There were such things as that?
There were such gatherings of dragons?
She had always assumed that since she was alone, other dragons were meant to be alone too...
And yet...
Here was proof that she had been wrong.
In her silence, the female tundra called up to the dragon over head, the leader of the Clan that seemed to hover before her.
He landed, and Shavira came face to face with an unfamiliar dragon.
He was long and thin, floating in the air and twisting like a spiral.
"Yes, Mia?" The dragon asks, looking to the female tundra and her son.
"Alvis," the Tundra, Mia, says. "I've found a Clanless. Can our new lair take one more?"
For a moment, Alvis watched Shavira closely, as Mia and her son hovered near her.
Shavira could do nothing but stare at him, her eyes quiet.
Was this a chance?
A chance to be with others?
To make friends and family?
With a soft sigh, Alvis shook his head.
"I am truly sorry, Mia and..."
"Shavira," Shavira managed to stumble out.
"Shavira," Alvis continued. "But with the eggs that we'll be hatching soon and with the hatchlings we have now," his gaze lingered over Mia's son, his expression softening. "We won't have room for another dragon."
Shavira's gaze fell, and she nodded solemnly, stepping back.
"That's alright," she comments. "I don't know much about other dragons, so it's best if you all continue as you are."
Alvis gives a solemn nod, before gesturing towards Mia and her son.
The young tundra male took off beside the spiral-like dragon, and Mia took a single glance to Shavira, her gaze sorrowful.
"I truly am sorry, Shavira," she says. "Best of luck to you, and may you find your family."
With that, she took to the sky, and Shavira watched the group go.
Despite the fact that she was alone once more, Shavira couldn't help but feel... Warm.
Hopeful.
She was alone, yes, but she didn't have to be alone...
She just needed to create a Clan.
A Clan...
A family...
A home.

icemidsmall2.png

As the days passed, Shavira began to plan.
She planned her new home, she planned a lair for her Clan.
She knew it would be small, but maybe she could search for more room for her lair, her home.
Shavira used her talents of swimming to push together floes of ice, melding them together with plant paste and her cold breath breathing onto the ice to freeze it together.
And it worked.
Slowly but surely, it worked.
She made small nests for eggs, because she knew that a Clan would need nests for eggs, and she began to stockpile food that she could find; plants, mainly, since she was a poor fisher and hunter.
And each night, she'd look to the sky, praying for that great dragon to grant her wish, for that great dragon to soar over head and bring with them dragons that she could call her family.
While the dragon never came, she never gave up hope, keeping patience and practicing ways to provide for the friends she hoped she'd one day meet.
Sitting by the water, one fateful morning, she waited for the shadows of fish to approach the surface, so that she could attempt to catch them.
When, in the reflection of the water, she saw something that looked like a dragon taking off into the air.
Just as she turned to search the skies, she heard a loud splash and turned just in time to see a large wing dip beneath the water.
Briefly, she looked over the water, confusion swarming her.
Did some dragons dive into the water for fish?
But then she saw the dragon beneath, seeing him thrash and churn in the water.
He wasn't fishing, he was drowning!
She dove into the waves, spinning around this hefty dragon and grabbing onto his back and propelling them onto the floe.
He gasped for air when they landed, and she hovered over him worryingly.
"Are you alright?" She asks, as the dragon's large head lifts to breathe in the air.
For a moment, he doesn't reply, instead watching her with a certain awe.
Curiously, she met this gaze, watching him and waiting.
His reply came later, after a moments of watching and waiting.
"I'm fine," he replied. "Thank you... For your help."
Shavira's eyes brighten, and she nods, a smile gracing her face.
She assured him it was no issue, and offered him housing while he recovered.
He took her offer, and they spoke to each other and told stories; he taught her how to fish and hunt, and she taught him how to dive and get herbs and hunt for water bugs.
The night before he was to leave, she told him of her deepest desire; to have a Clan. A family to call her own.
And to her surprise...
He stayed behind.
The first to join her Clan.

Shavira is a bright, friendly, and kind dragon. Some of the Dragons in her Clan call her the Matron of Hayle, due to her motherly-like tendencies to ensure that everyone is well fed and sleeping properly. She often works with Seafoam, the Healer of the Clan, when it comes to Clanmate care. Her duties as founder of the Clan reside in the overall care and distribution of duties and tasks. She assigns titles and she creates the laws of the Clan, of which all abide by.
Her familiar, Odix, was a wandering Longneck Hunter that was injured, and she took him in. They were close friends to begin with, and now he is always by her side, helping her keep her busy schedule and help her sort the dragons into different areas.

To this day, she still remembers her time of loneliness, and makes it her goal to take in any Clanless dragons, even if the space in the lair is not as roomy as normal. One of her main desires is to ensure that no one ever feels how she felt for so long.

She and Tovald still raise and hatch dragons to this day, and despite many questions from her Clanmates asking if she'd ever hibernate, she can't see herself doing so. There was too much to do and she was far too in love with her Clan to part with it. At least for now.
