Pearl

Pearl sighed deeply, dabbing at the wound with a cloth. "He wouldn't have made it if you hadn't gotten here as fast as you did. You know that right?"

Rhea nodded, looking at Seraph sadly. The Wildclaw seemed to be sleeping soundly. His body was covered in wounds and scars, and he looked like he'd just been through a war. "I didn't think they'd go this far."

The room Pearl healed in was small and damp, but it was quiet and smelled like the scented candles she made. It was a good place to treat the sick and wounded. No one bothered her here, though it was one of only two buildings located in Vokun that was actually above the ground.

She smiled at her work. The angel was bandaged and warm. Pearl couldn't help but think back to first meeting Error, or the day she'd joined Vokun in the first place. They'd welcomed her for her skills in healing, but she always felt too gentle for this clan.

"Well, he's okay now. Get some rest. You'll be notified as soon as he wakes up," she washed her talons of the Wildclaw's blood and went back to her cave slowly, favoring her right leg, which had been rather sore for multiple days.

There, her mate Error waited for her. But he was shaking, and his eyes were wide and frightened. Pearl knew immediately something was wrong. He saw her, then barreled into her arms, sobbing. Another nightmare. And he had to go through it alone, because Pearl had been busy.

Pearl hugged him close, tearing up herself. "Shhh. You're safe now. It was just a nightmare."

He shook his head. "It's not. She's real. I know she is."

Pearl sighed. Her paws were sore, her wings throbbed, and her eyes were red with exhaustion. But she had to help the clan stay strong. Sometimes she wished dragons would do the same for her.
