BACKSTORY
by ShadowFlamel

He had been born into a creed of thieves, assassins, liars, and wrong-doers. He was the son of the creed’s blacksmith and jewelry makers, occupations that seemed out of place among the nature of his birthplace. His parents weren’t thieves, nor were they liars. He’d heard those words from them and even from the members themselves. As an adult he couldn’t imagine how it must feel when you lived with a family that practiced what you didn’t claim to be. At the time the issues didn’t faze him for long, a hatchling could hardly tell the difference between one thing and another. His parents loved and adored him, while the creed loved and educated him. Truthfully he never saw the side that made them what they called themselves to be.

He played with his siblings in their mother’s forge and in their father’s office, acquiring some of the pieces laying around to use as imaginary swords or bounty from a stolen treasure chest. The weapons, jewelry and armor his mother made were too heavy for the younger Bogsneaks and so one day she gifted them each with proportional sized gifts. Every child got the same thing, a helmet, a sword made of wood with iron accents, and a mini cloak when someone had to the play the role of the King. Every time he put it on he could feel his mother’s love and was ready for another tussle with his brothers and sisters. Once he outgrew the playtime armor he passed it down to a younger sibling who could use it and let their imagination run as wild as his did as a hatchling.

His father gifted everyone with some sort of jewelry or trinket or something that they requested. This was a gift that he wouldn’t outgrow, and it was something from both of his parents. His mother had crafted the object and his father had cleaned, polished, and set the jewels to make it unique. It was a reminder that his parents would always be there for him wherever he went.

As he has grown he’s learned some tricks and watched his parents work, occasionally helping when he got a bit older and the project wasn’t too demanding. He adores how his parents create things, always looking forward to the days when they go to the Auction House to try and sell their wares. A couple of cute hatchlings and beautiful jewelry will attract just about any buyer. Now that his parents have taught him everything they can along with the help of the creed he’s in search for a new clan. He’s not sure if he wants to follow in his parent's footsteps or go a different route but they’ve always told him that they’re proud of him no matter what he does.

JOB

What he hasn't told anyone was his love for the exhilaration of a good fight. In his old clan, he would sneak off in the night and fight with the sword he was given by his father. But as he was sold off into the Auction House, he began to get a proper education for the arts of fighting. With his mentor, Genshuo a bulky Imperial, they trained everyday and practice usually went into the night. Every time he messed up on some swing or trip on himself while running, Daeorm would dust himself off and try again and again. Determination and his love for the art helped him get through tough training days. Genshuo would always be supportive of his dreams and pushed him to his breaking point multiple times. The bond between mentor and student was so tight that the Imperial would treat Daeorm as the son he never had. In the few rare moments the two weren't training, they would do some casual father-son activities like go hunting.

RIVALS

Keeva, a runed Skydancer, has always been one of the best archers in the clan. She had two things that no dragon could buy with all the gems in Sornieth; talent and love. Daeorm looked at all the items she possessed that he knew he could never gain with a burning jealousy. So he trained. He trained and trained and trained for countless hours to be as good as the legendary archer. No, better then her. He will be the best warrior the clan has ever seen! But, he always knew he couldn’t. The silver Bogsneak had always been hostile towards Keeva, and she’s always been perplexed by this. Keeva has always been nice to Daeorm, well nice for her standards at least. She didn’t really have any reason to have a grudge against him, so why make one?

LOVE LIFE

Some time later on his travels, he came across a caravan of travelling entertaining mages, and among them was a cheery carefree Spiral. She seemed very content to go with the flow no mater what, and always managed to smile through it all. She introduced herself to him and began her performance, yet he wasn't very impressed; entertained yes, but not so much impressed. Yet she was not deterred, and persisted along with her troupe and the show. By the end of the night the performance got through to him, and he found his spirits raised and a smile as well. At nighttime he offered the Caravan his services as a bodyguard, so he may stick around and watch more shows (and especially Akilina). They accepted gratefully, and for a few years he traveled with them. His relationship with Akilina grew stronger by the day, and later on they decided to leave together to retire and rest.
Over time he managed to affect her as much as she'd affected him. They'd canceled each other out for the better, and together came out a stronger duo.
