They were attempting to hunt a herd of dreadrams, but were continuously thwarted by a band of flamescale serthis that wanted the prey for themselves. Jedaira, after observing them from a high ridge with great frustration, approached and offered advise in exchange for a portion of the kill. Once they came to an agreement, the hunt began and resulted in a week's worth of meat for the clan. Impressed by her skill, the lead hunter that day offered to bring her to the lair to determine if there was a place for her in their ranks. Not having a clan of her own, Jedaira accepted, and almost immediately became the Forge Wardens' head huntress. She takes charge of organizing small expeditions of hunters, fishers, foragers, catchers, diggers and scavengers to obtain the necessary food and items the clan needs on a daily basis.

As a youngster, Jedaira struck out from her home clan for the simple pleasure of not answering to anyone but herself. Alone in the wilds, the peril of starvation quickly honed her hunting skills. For the first several years she enjoyed the solitude, but soon noticed that every time she came across a trader or traveler, she felt exhilarated by their presence and saddened by their departure. When the offer to join the Forge Wardens was presented to her, she took it as a sign from the Flamecaller, and soon found a welcoming new family and a mate, the stout ridgeback Oikara. She is clever and quick-witted in social settings, but brutally lethal in battle. She can hurl her spear at a from incredible distances, then finish her target off with her talons once she's close enough.
