g BIOGRAPHY Hatched from parents of a race known as 'The Cold Ones', Barachiel, unlike his parents, was able to see the world as it was in his childhood. It was... special. To be envied of by his parents. But there wasn't much to see; and he told them just that, whenever they would ask. Landscapes of white, horizons blur from the restless blizzards. Their scales white with marks akin to scars and stains of blood. It scared him. But no matter how many times they asked about their appearance, the child would only answer 'beautiful, the most among us all'. He didn't know when things began to turn south; perhaps it all started when he realised the world was taking from him what gave him most comfort. His sight. He could live without his stupid hatchling-fur, but his sight - his sight he could not. Each passing day was a step deeper into hell, into the pit he knew as fear. The mountain peaks he used to just barely see across the horizon, behind the slithers of the blizzard disappeared. His world had been splashed white, details blurring, staining blotches in his vision. It wasn't long before the world had been plunged into darkness. And the insanity began. The hatred, the loathing. Whatever love he felt, every piece of kindness he'd had, the gratefulness and positivity he'd grown up with - all of it vanished with his sight. Barachiel's personality took a turn for the worse; the good boy he once was had become lost. His parents bore the grunt of his hatred, as he hurled cruel words towards them before he left the clan behind. The boy who loved the world for what it was, was now no more than a monster of despair. Alike Eridian, Barachiel chose to fight the world, aiming to be the best he could be. But apart from his goal in becoming known as the strongest, he wanted to share his pain. He wanted everyone to know the horrors of losing something that had once been so natural - being able to see. With each won battle, Barachiel would take his opponents' sight from them. One way or another, he came across Eridian and they engaged in battle. They fought with vigor, they fought to kill. But soon he was pinned to the snow, proving the experience and skill in combat he prized so greatly to be nothing before this bloodthirsty dragon. Barachiel was so sure his miserable life would finally end that day, as Eridian's paw pressed harshly into his neck, maw ever so close to his ears. "Let's spar again sometime." A shout from another dragon had those fangs taken from nearby him, and subsequently the rest of Eridian. Before he knew it, the dragon who'd been driven almost to madness with blood-thirst had become a faithful little lapdog searching for praise from the other he called Yoon. Barachiel despised this; but Eridian. Eridian, perhaps, could be the excitement he'd been searching for. g CHARACTER Barachiel is bloodthirsty and unafraid of all that confronts him. Like his mentor, he's always up for a fight against any and everyone, no matter their skill and strength. He, also like Eridian, always enjoys a good fight to the death. He never gives up in a fight, even if it may mean losing his life - but as he always would say 'I'm still here, aren't I?". g ROLE Nam at sem diam. ═ g RELATIONSHIPS ▸ eridian and he are one and the same - the world is just one big coliseum with no way out but death. most of the time, they're fighting one another when yoon's too busy attending to other business. however, barachiel often loses to eridian, so barachiel kinda finds the latter really annoying. doesn't mean barachiel can't have a little crush on eridian, of course. an infatuation that sometimes lead to moments of obsession. ▸ luthien, although not as good a fighter as the inseparable trio, is definitely barachiel's role model. his skill in battle, of course, is still admirable, easily ranking fourth, but while it's respectable, what barachiel respects most in luthien is his morals. a rebellious devil-may-care attitude as he faces the world with his snout turned upwards. hell, the dark dragon's probably even more rebellious than barachiel is - it might just be the shade in luthien working though, but barachiel wouldn't know. heck, he doesn't even know about luthien's little condition. ▸ following through with eridian as barachiel's crush, yoon is for more reasons than one, someone that barachiel hates. his neutral attitude, how calm and liberal he is, the fact he seems to care for everyone so silently, yet still have those who dislike him leading them and just accept that all. it's almost comical how unrealistic it all seems. and the fact that eridian loves this selfless leader more than his own life. barachiel hates everything about yoon. everything. he plans to one day usurp the leader's throne by assassination or whatever have it, as well as everything that belongs to yoon. especially eridian. ▸ takeshi and he met one another during a certain clean-out mission the crimson crown was hired to do. while at first they were cat and mouse, they eventually fell for one another. falling for takeshi and takeshi doing the same brought barachiel back to sanity, and with takeshi around, barachiel chose to never kill another again. g TRIVIA ▸ whilst unable to see, the cold ones are known to be able to sense auras of others, thus able to tell where one might be. barachiel is able to locate his opponents through this ability and is then able to find where the eyes are on his opponent. ▸ he hates being called barry - as an advocate for evil and villainy, barachiel deems the nickname much too ordinary. |
