Early Years
Shortly after Eden's birth, both his parents felt the Call, and went to their Exalted stations to serve the Gladekeeper. He became a ward of the clan, and was given over to Antinonsense for raising. He never really missed his parents, he was too young to remember more than fleeting images of their faces.Being raised by the clan matriarch had its perks. He was given access to the best tutors and raised knowing clan affairs. He showed a natural knack for numbers, and was given part of the Hoard to inventory, a task he enjoyed and accomplished quickly and accurately. As he grew, so did his responsibilities.
A Mistake
Eden's sister was raised under the same care and given access to the same privileges, but took her life down a vastly different route. Though he didn't always agree with her choices, he wanted to believe she did not have ill intentions and was only misguided.In a lean season when food was not so plentiful, Eden found himself in charge of rationing out food stores. He was always meticulous with the numbers on his tally, but when she came to him, stating she was starving and needed a bit more than her allotment, she would make it up to him, he gave into her and fixed the numbers. She in turn gathered no extra when out foraging, yet he believed that they could still make up the difference. When she asked for extra again, he yielded, and she brought back nothing in return. However, the portion he eked out, and what was never brought back unbalanced the stores, and his well meaning deceit was discovered. Eden lost his privileges and the respect of his clan. His unrepentant sister was nowhere to be found at his reckoning to vouch that she did indeed take the portion, and he had not eaten it all himself. Shamed by his youthful mistake, he wishes to start fresh in another clan where he can hide his past. ________ Eden fell upon The Jade Burrow, who were sending word of being a safe haven for all dragons. As one of the earliest members, Eden quickly became friends with the fellow dragons, and established himself as the hoard manager, where all goods were free to all dragons in need, but those of value would require Eden's permission. Eden hoped this new responsibility would make up for his previous mistakes.
