B I O G R A P H Y

Maiden was born into a peaceful clan whose whole foundation was based upon a pessimistic belief that war could never lead to peace. For the most part this foundation worked out well for them; the clan leader led strong, and every neighboring clan was at peace with each other. Maiden was a caretaker, she took care of the young and old, the hurt and sick. That is, until a clan of savages invaded the neighboring clans to the south, forcing everyone into war. The strongest of the men were drafted along with nurses to care for the hurt, including Maiden; who was forcefully ripped away from her 4 children and husband. Maiden was one of the most equipped in the field of medicine so she was one of the on-call nurses who stood on the sidelines in the battlefield. The enemies every day grew closer and closer to the heart of their clan and every day more and more men were dying. Then one day, a bomb went off. Maiden doesn’t remember much, just loud, deafening noises, and screaming, and then she blacked out…

Maiden woke up shaking, her vision blurred with spots dotting the little she could see. She yells out as she manages to crawl out of the tent into a mostly lifeless battlefield. She saw no movement and reacted quickly, grabbing a dirty sword lying in the seared grass around her and started walking north, toward her clan. By the time she got back her vision had worsened, and all she could make out was the remains of an abandoned clan. Terror seized her heart as she screamed her husband and children's names, but no one answered her calls; she was alone. Stricken with panic Maiden set out to find her family, her clan, going to neighboring clans to discover the same condition as hers.

Soon Maiden was wandering aimlessly, looking for any sign of life, and for a long time she didn’t find any. Over the course of isolation Maiden’s eye sight gave out and her other senses spiked. She was left to be led by her hearing, touch, and sense of smell. “Hello? Are you okay?”, a deep and demanding voice calls out to her. Maiden was scared, but could sense a hint of concern in the voice, so she followed it. Maiden was overwhelmed by the voices of many greeting her into an echoing cave, and laying her down. This, was the Clan of the Pathetic. Weeks later her story had been told, her voice heard, and she had finally come to the realization that her family had been killed; there is no finding them now. Maiden grew accustomed to the tribe and their people, and decided to dedicate her life to protecting them. She met with the head warrior, Ekir, and he trained her in the art of battle, despite her loss of sight. She became a skilled swordsman and vowed her life to being a loyal warrior to the Clan of the Pathetic, her new family.
