Biography
The young spiral was born with the gift of future sight and was named Orela after her seer abilities. Like most spiral hatchlings she was full of energy and often caused other dragons to trip over her thin form while she was darting about playing with other hatchlings. Unlike her playmates however, Orela was burdened to see the future and into the dreams of other dragons. At first she thought nothing of these visions. Nothing important ever came from them so why make a fuss over it?
As she grew up and her powers sharpened and enhanced however, she began to understand and accept her role as a seer for her birth clan. She used her abilities to foresee wars, famines, and even into the dreams of clanmates to find the traitors in their midst. Orela held a heavy weight on her shoulders with her responsibilities but never once despised her power; it was after, a blessing from the deities. Each day she would meditate and push the limit of her sights further. It was hard to judge how far she could see until the events actually happened but it was clear she was improving.
Then one day she saw something that would shock any dragon. It was like a nightmare; her clan in ruins with a battle raging around her. Pain radiated off her as she felt like her own scales were being seared by invisible flames… and then there was white. Orela panicked and rushed back to warn her leaders only to find it was too late. A rival clan had ambushed the clan and while every dragon- including herself- fought to defend their home it was going to be at a high price. A mage from the rival clan cornered her and began chanting something between their attacks against one another. Orela landed a fatal blow to her opponent as a storm of elemental energies built up around the battlefield. She tried to fly closer to help only for her body to be flung away by the chaotic storm.
When she could regain her footing and move again Orela realized something was wrong. She couldn’t quite pinpoint what it was until she tried getting back to her clan and slammed into an invisible barrier that burned through her limbs like they were parchment. She crashed to the ground with bleeding wounds and tried to heal them with her magic- only succeeding in creating a spell of white runes down her body that would contain the wounds and stop the pain but couldn’t heal the cursed burns. Orela knew then that she’d never see home again; that spell had banished her and possibly doomed her clan without her there to help. The spiral limped away, realizing it was time to find a new home.
Her visions led her to Earth where she found a clan the housed a former member of her own clan from before she’d been born. Orela didn’t speak much with them, as the imperial held a dislike for their birth clan, but it was nice to know someone shared history with the dragons she’d never see again. Like her in her birth clan, Orela became a seer for her new clan as well. While her body is frail due to the burns along her body, she has managed to produce a physical astral projection of herself in the form of a white skydancer with a glowing pink runes on its face. It’s unknown why it took a skydancer form but Orela quite enjoys the height and easier walking movements of that form to her own spiral body.
