ABOUT - Synn was further down the tower when he heard the explosion. He ran up the spiral staircases, taking two steps at a time. He smelt something horrible, the back of his throat began to hurt. In the air he could now see pink smoke. He ran faster and his legs began to hurt as the did so. Finally, he found the source of the smoke - Copal's lab. His worst fears had been confirmed - an experiment gone wrong. He always worried she'd hurt herself. He opened the door and the smoke poured out, blinding him. As the smoke cleared, he saw that the room was empty! How? Where was she? There was no way she could pass him on the stairs unnoticed. He set about searching for her immediately. He spoke with the rest of the clan and not one person had seen her. They all assumed she was still in her lab. Her home was still full of her belongings, nothing suggested she had left. He furrowed his brow. Where could she have gone? He went back to her lab the next day to see if he could find any clues. Most of Copals notes were in the lab. A huge binder had suffered some external damage but most of the notes were intact. He read through them, which took quite awhile due to the fast hand she had written them in. A lot of it made no sense, but from what he could gather, she was working on some sort of teleportation device. Why would we need one of those, was his first thought. His face looked alarmed. Had she been teleported? Much later, Synn arrived at The Jade Burrow in his search of Copal. He was confronted by Shortcake, the captain of the guard. Synn questioned him, asking if he'd seen a Nocturne fitting Copal's description. Shortcake refused to answer (perhaps there was some reason Copal was ignoring this dragon) but Synn took his silence for a yes however and barged in. He was soon stopped by Shortcake and the rest of the guard, but not before Synn saw Copal in the distance. She was here! But why had she stayed and not come home? |
