Azoth and Merlin are brothers. To Azoth's annoyance, Merlin will tell you right away that Azoth is the little brother.

Azoth specializes in electricity-based magic. He loved blending magic and science together, and he is confused why people think magic and science do not work together. He enjoys making useful things that help the clan and nearby clans. He's proud of an alarm system he made for the kites in the Cloudsong so dragons can find any damage to kites right away.

For fun he enjoys making golems of various types, more for their whimsical value than their use. Hatchlings and pets love to play with them, and he makes them for clanmembers' pets and any child who comes along. He's made more than a few toys for Archimedes' pet, Fluffers, although Archimedes would never admit they are for anything but a "behavioral experiment."
