Only other outstanding notes about family lore is the fact they all wear the mark of the dread wolf. it seems to emanate the most terrible luck and leaves them horribly disfigured, it seems to come from removing the brands that once marred their face. All of the families names are Shona so their human region of origin is Madagascar, the arbiter to be able to keep the shackles of the dread wolf from their line by having Schorl reside with Gaius ,whose overwhelming presence keeps the Dread Wolf at bay.

Tauya is the designated "Seeker" that locates dragons infected by the shade. Tawana is the "Retributer" that reclaims dragons infected by the fade to be cleansed by the Divine Light of Her Glory.
