"I will follow you wherever you go, Legacy."

Legacy's mentor, Steel, is a strong, old warrior from Dragonhome. Steel has taught Legacy how to fight, and he successfully smuggled Legacy out of the Southern Icefield to escape persecution. He now serves as one of Legacy's councilors.

Born in Dragonhome, Steel has seen the crumbled Pillar. He grew up near its base, watching exalted dragons walk back and forth from it, servicing the Earthshaker and keeping the area clean. His mentor was a snapper old enough to remember when the Cairnstone Rest was active instead of abandoned, yet he wielded a sword better than Steel ever has.

When the war king Arahathan declared war on Sornieth from his safehaven in the Plaguelands, Steel was called to action by his clan to help defend the Pillar. The battle ravaged the Shadow and Nature territories, but thankfully passed Dragonhome. After the war ended, Steel sought out further military positions and landed a job as a knight under the changing Earth government.

The current snapper queen married a Lightning drake in order to foster goodwill between Earth and Lightning, but the ridgeback she married was cunning and desired to mold the Earth territory into something akin to a second Lightning land. Steel was part of the knight order that guarded the castle when the queen was smuggled out after her ridgeback husband tried to kill her in the night. She left behind two eggs that did not hatch for many years.

Unhappy with the current state of affairs, Steel left Dragonhome. He traveled for quite some time, never staying long in one place, until he was contracted by Princess Arianné as some hired muscle to guard her palace during the internment of former war king Arahathan.

Steel watched Arahathan's queen lay and hatch the eggs that contained Legacy and his other siblings. Over time, Steel grew quite fond of the young prince and raised him with a king's heritage in mind. He had spent enough time under the snapper queen to know how a young drake should behave, and he worked with Legacy for countless hours at a time.

After Princess Arianné caught wind of Oran's plan to steal Legacy's birthright and claim the Hewn City for his own sons' use, Steel decided Legacy needed to reach the Light territory as soon as he could, and with a formidable group of warriors around him.

With the help of Frostbite, Steel successfully spirited Legacy away in the night.

Now a well-esteemed knight and mentor to Legacy, Steel's days are easier than most. He serves on Legacy's council and spends most of his time with the new recruits and the dragons seeking to become knights. He helps break them into training and teaches them the basics of wielding the various weapons a knight may use.

Steel works with the new recruits to the Hewn Order, training them to become knights. He trains them in sword fighting as well as archery.

your broadcast message is the biggest mood in existence. Seafood and Insects never stood a chance. Your lair is really fun and beautiful btw, so this wasn't easy. That said, Steel is really pretty. He nails everything I like about the copper aesthetic without actually being copper in any way shape or form.

Yeees, great! A lot of Imperial dragons. Seriously, there are so many good ones. I ended up with Steel because his colours are fantastic! Wearing bow and sword! 10/10 right there.
