The daughter of Regan, the traveling tundra who leaves love and hatchlings wherever she goes. It was once her dream to follow in her pawsteps and breed many little fluffballs in many different clans, but Love has since ended her journey and settled down permanently in The Purified Temple.

This loving tundra has traveled far from her home lair (GrinningWolf24, #212075), and now she's off to bring more fluffy little ones into the world. If ever you feel the need to exalt or sell, she'd really appreciate it if you could escort her back to her home lair, or pass her on to the 'Dragons Off To See The World' thread, here. This is not necessary, but she would be very grateful!

Adventure Log:

GrinningWolf24, April 18th, 2017

"Spread love. Send it wherever you go. This world doesn't have enough of it, and so it is our job to bring more unconditional, fluffy love into this world." That was what her mother told her before heading off to find the next lair to visit. She had looked at her sisters, and knew they were all of the same mind- to follow in their mother's pawsteps, and bring as many loving hatchlings into this world as they could, so that more clans could have the love they needed.

Volrin, April 18th - May 8th, 2017

The soft, purple ball of fluff made her way through the Sunbeam Ruins, the warm sunlight glowing on her thick fur; she loved the friendly, sunny weather of this new land! She was getting a bit too warm and quite tired from her long adventure, however, and needed some shelter to rest in; fortunately, she could see a building towering overhead in the distance. Maybe she could stay there while she regained her energy?

As Love plodded up to the towering ruins, she jumped back in alarm as an armored, crystalline Pearlcatcher emerged from the shadows and stood tall over her. The bright yellow eyes of the menacing dragon narrowed, and peered straight into the blood red eyes of the tiny Tundra. Her face twisted into a snarl, and her furious voice bellowed;

"PLAGUE-BORN!"

At these words, a dark purple Fae in heavy witch's robes bolted out of the shadows as well, and stood as tall as she possibly could next to the guard: the two put on a very menacing display. Fearing for her young life, Love laid down on the ground and put her head between her paws, shivering with terror; fortunately for her, a small, lavender Guardian rushed to her aid.

"W-wait! Stop!" The fellow hatchling wailed, standing uncertainly between Love and her attackers. "She's just a baby, like me! Please don't hurt her!"

The two terrifying dragons seemed to falter a bit at these words, only now seeming to realize that it was only a harmless hatchling they were 'defending' their lair against. The Fae's head crest folded in as she stated in a low voice, "She's a Plague dragon. We don't accept her kind in my lair."

"Why does that matter? She didn't do anything bad to you guys, what does the Flight she was born in change?" He snarled back. The Pearlcatcher shifted uncomfortably, the stern look on her face shifting into one of embarrassment and shame.

"He has a point, you know." She grumbled finally, "We've held such a strong grudge against the Plague flight for all these years, we've sunk so low that we're taking out our hatred on an innocent hatchling..." She sighed deeply. "Look. I know you hate the Plague Flight for what happened to Mojack, as do I. As do all of us. But it outright wasn't their fault; it was the Plaguebringer who devised that disease, and it was only one of her followers that infected him, not the whole lot. I haven't wanted to say anything to you for fear that you'd be upset, but... I think we need to lighten up on them a little."

The Fae turned her head away from her partner, closing her eyes and nodding gently. Voice dull and monotonous, she muttered, "Shesh, Nauta, bring this Tundra into the lair. After what we -- no, after what I have done, she deserves to be treated well." The Pearlcatcher, who Love assumed to be Nauta, solemnly nodded in agreement; she knew how much it hurt the Fae to let go of her spite. Beckoning the hatchlings forward, she trudged with her leader into the ruins.

Tiptoeing gently into the lair, the purple Tundra glanced at her new Guardian friend and whispered, "Thank you for protecting me." Shesh flashed her a toothy grin in return, and a warm smile spread over her face.

The sullen witch lead the hatchlings to the Nesting Grounds of her lair; a massive room filled with soft sand pits, some of which contained faintly glowing, pearly-white eggs. Above the nests was a massive, brightly-shining orb of Light magic that emanated a gentle warmth, keeping the eggs comfortably warm. "This is where the families in our clan lay their eggs and raise their hatchlings. You can rest here during your stay, Pla--...little Tundra." Myura explained, trailing off as she almost referred to the hatchling as "plague-born" again. "Now that I think of it, what is your name?"

"Love," The Tundra responded quietly, "my name is Love."

...

Over the next while, Love grew to be Shesh's best friend, never leaving his side. Myura was still bitter and distrustful towards her for a while, but the Tundra's soft demeanor and heartwarming care for other dragons made it impossible for the Fae to hate her for long. Eventually, Love gained the Fae's trust, and was allowed to meet her sickly mate; a feverish Mirror named Mojack.

He had supposedly been infected by a monstrous dragon from The Scarred Wasteland, and spent years roaming the flights as a mindless, rotting zombie before his family was finally able to capture him and heal him. Even now, he was constantly running a fever, suffered intense nausea, and displayed pitch-black cracks under his eyes and across his head crest that seemed to hint at some influence of the Shade. He wasn't allowed to leave the lair anymore.

"I'm so sorry for what happened to you... I can't believe the world could be so mean to someone..." Love sobbed softly upon hearing the Mirror's story; she snuggled into his neck, and he gently wrapped an arm around her small figure. He was crying, too.

"It's been so long since a hatchling has dared to even come near me," he was barely able to choke out, "I've missed this so much. Thank you, Love." Myura looked on at the two, her heart twisting with grief at her mate's misery and the thought that she had ever dared to hate a dragon as dear and sweet as Love.

Not too long after her best friend's sudden departure from Myura's family, and almost a month after her initial encounter with the clan, Love's nest with a handsome Skydancer named Poseidon hatched; four pearly, glowing eggs split open to reveal the gorgeous blue Tundras inside. She looked at her children with teary eyes as she told them;

"You are a gift to this world; a shining ray of light in a land ripe with cruelty and darkness. Much like my mother did before me, I want you all to go out into this world and help spread our cause--bring more unconditional fluffy love to the clans that need it so dearly."

The next morning, Love awoke snuggled up next to sickly Mojack, with Myura draped fast-asleep across her paws. Her face crumpled with grief as she remembered what today was: the day she would finally set out on the road again, and bring more baby Tundras into another clan. 'Why am I even doing this?' She thought to herself. 'Myura and Mojack have been more of a family to me than my real mom ever was. At least I can remember Myura's face!' Regardless, she couldn't bear the thought of settling in this clan forever and betraying her mother's wish to her; she gently nuzzled Mojack on the cheek and softly kissed Myura's head, and rose to her feet as quietly as possible as not to disturb them.

As Love stepped out of the shadowy lair and into the rays of the morning sun, she laughed gently as she remembered her tiny hatchling self stumbling through this wide, sunny plain: she had changed so much in the time she had spent here, she couldn't even think of herself as the same dragon anymore. As she padded across the warm, beaten-down path winding through the Sunbeam Ruins, she reflected a bit on her experience here.

Thanks to her, Shesh had discovered his Charge: a peaceful lullaby he would share with the world. Thanks to her, Myura had finally been able to make peace with the Plague Flight that destroyed her family. Thanks to her, Mojack had finally had at least a few moments of joy and peace since his infection. "Spread love. Send it wherever you go. This world doesn't have enough of it..." Her mother's request echoed through her head once again.

"Well, mom, I did what you asked," she announced confidently to the empty space around her, "I did what you asked and spread love to dragons that needed it; maybe just not quite in the way you had expected."

Noipale, May 9th - May 26th, 2017

The ordeal of having children and moving so soon weighed on Love tremendously. Her wings shook for two days and her hips were sore. She wished she could have stayed till she recovered, but everything had just happened so fast, and she was on her way before even knowing she'd be like this. Not only physically -- but emotionally, too, she was sore. Her heart ached as she remembered the babies she sent off, instructing them in the same way her mother had instructed her.
Her travels took her to a wind lair there she found Canopybreeze who helped her ease the stress of nesting with warm baths and plenty of sugarmelon to ease nesting pains.

Later on Love caught the eye of a dark green colored Snapper.
Sugarmelon

He lumbered about munching on some leaves not minding so much about the activities of everyone around him. He seemed peculiar, out of place. A hardened grounded warrior who lives in a bright lively caring community. She knew why shortly after, he spoke in a different language, more quiet than the rest and his sister nearby to translate helped. Somewhat... but none the less two more hatchlings in the world opened their eyes and Love bestowed upon them names in hopes they would continue brightening this world with their smiles.

She kissed them as her final act of motherly love and gave Tornato a smile and a nudge, he lives in a very caring and loving clan already to be this happy. Without further delay she bid them farewell and off to the next lair she went.

ScreamingBeans May 26th - June 6th, 2017

Love arrived in the Shifting expanse after a short while of flying. She was wandering through the dry grounds when she noticed another dragon picking through what looked like a "dragon grown" forest. She had barely seen the dragon at first, as he was a green coatl that blended in with the trees. He looked up eventually and smiled, introducing himself as Seamus.

He lead her back to the clan and introduced her to the queen. The queen, a skydancer named Heriosa, was quite friendly and lead her to stay at an area of lodging for travelers like herself. As she explored she met another tundra named Fallon. They became friends and when she was ready to nest again he was the father.

Their nest produced beautiful, fluffy babies which, when they hatched, she promptly instructed to follow in her footsteps, and set off again.

HereBeeDragons - June 6th, 2017

When Love landed in the lair of HereBeeDragons, there was confusion all around. Love's goal was to travel the world leaving fluffy babies in her wake, whereas the clan of HereBeeDragons believed not only in true love but also in fighting overpopulation. They gave Love a quick kiss on the nose, dropped a lei over her head, and bid her a fond farewell. Perhaps her next stop would be more suitable to her purposes.

Kapara 6 June - July 4th, 2017

After a brief stop at the last clan she ended up in a bustling caravanserai in the desert. Looking around were all sorts of dragons, chasing some sort of gold rush. Love made tons of friends, but she couldn't stay with them – she has journeying to do, after all. But she did leave behind a starry-eyed daughter, Hope.

GrinningWolf24 - December 17th, 2017

Lost. Empty. The constant gnawing at Love's heart had long since worn her other emotions away, leaving just these two feelings. Why did it hurt? Why did her mother's quest chafe and rub her sore like this? She had visited many clans; left much unconditional love and hatchlings behind. It never made her feel better. She would be cheerful and positive for her children and her mates, explain her quest.... but it was with a heavy heart that she continued to journey- one new, random lair, in a new, foreign part of the continent after the other.

After traveling far, she finally returned to her own place of birth, hoping to seek out an answer. But she found naught by an empty chasm in the earth where her Plague burrow had once been. She remembered dimly whispers of a place the clan had been before here, but there were no smells here to jog her mind further than that. She was lost once again. Hot tears flooded down her snout as she sat, wondering just what to do.

Where to go? What was important? Who even was she anymore?

A breeze picked up, ruffling the flowers around her neck from one of her previous clans. Despite being months old, they still were fresh from the clan's magic. The scent of the blooms soothed her slightly. She slowly, tiredly stood once more, looking around what was left of the den for something, anything to help her find a way.

It was very insignificant. A small red scrap of cloth. Most dragons would have passed it by as trash. But the scent... it called to her. She buried her snout in the fibers, breathing deep. Memories burst through her mind- her father, her early years, lullabies being sung while she snuggled into her father's fluffy chest....

Her eyes popped open. Lullaby. Like a puzzle, thoughts clicked one after the other. Lullaby. Shesh. Myura. Home. Another breeze fluttered the small scrap of cloth, like a friend waving goodbye. Love paid it no mind. Her head was slowly turning until it pointed in the direction she instinctively knew was where her TRUE home clan lay. The place that had filled her heart. The place where she was needed. The place where she was herself, with her own way of spreading her namesake. Her wings spread without hardly a thought, and she was off, powerful strokes lifting her higher and with greater purpose than she had possesed in months.

If her mind hadn't been so focused on following the invisible air currents, she may have realized her own emotions- peace, happiness, excitement, expectation, and most importantly, Love.

Volrin - December 20th, 2017 - Forever.

And so Love returned to her true home -- to the motherly Fae who wept tears of joy at her return, and to the sickly green Mirror who had recently been cured of his Shade corruption, and though he had little strength to even hug his adopted Tundra daughter, he gave it his all. Love was crestfallen when she found out that Shesh had disappeared during his travels and nobody had caught word from him in months, but like a gift from the deities themselves, he miraculously returned to the clan only a few days after Love did.

Nowadays, Shesh and Love work together in the clan's hatchery, regaling the infant dragonlings with tales of their respective journeys, and soothing them with their famous lullaby. Love aided her adoptive parents when they laid a nest of their own together, the first time they had done so since before Mojack's disappearance; she wept with them when two of the eggs didn't make it, mourned alongside them when one of the infant hatchlings passed away, and dutifully tended to the two surviving Fae, Hollyfin and Mirage.

The Tundra was respectful when Myura crowned her eldest child, Hollyfin, as the heir to carry on as clan leader after her. Love wasn't really much of the leading type, anyways -- but there was also the fact that she knew she wasn't Myura's daughter by blood, even if they had a beautifully close family bond. Hollyfin and Love are close as siblings, as well, even if Hollyfin's gambling habits and lack of responsibility concern their Tundra sister sometimes.

Love still raises hatchlings of her own from time to time; not with Shesh like much of her clan members would've thought, though, because as much as they love each other, the feelings are purely platonic between them. She has had a number of nesting partners, male and female alike, but none permanent. When it comes to her hatchlings, Love learned a lot from her travels -- she tells them the truth about their family lineage as travelling breeders, but never sends them away or pressures them to continue Regan's legacy like she once did. Whether they decide to stay or go, is purely up to them.

Descendant of Regan

I am a Descendant of Regan, the Soft Mommy! She is known for travelling all across Sornieth, and leaving little fluffballs to follow in her pawsteps in every clan she touches. If you ever breed me, it is tradition for Regan's descendants to go travelling to spread her family line further -- though this isn't a requirement. She loves to receive letters from hatchlings!

While Regan's original home is a dead lair now, there are other users carrying on her travelling game in this thread. You can see her original legacy thread here.
