Copernicus is, above all else, not someone you should ever, ever cross. Not if you value your life or your sanity. He is ruthless in the most chillingly calm sense of the word. He does precisely what is needed for the situation -- no more, no less. Because of these characteristics, Copernicus and Chisai are an objectively ideal couple. They should have worked brilliantly together. In all fairness, they did work brilliantly. Together, they founded one of the most notorious mafia guilds in all of the Tangled Wood and created several of the Wood's best kept secrets. Unfortunately, they did not play well together or love well together. The pair split right before their first nest was due to hatch

However, due to the immense pride of both dragons and the fortunate timing, the pair never revealed that they had hatched a nest. The two older hatchlings were sent away at unforgivably young ages and the youngest, Sunbeam, was kept and passed off as Chisai and Akuma's son. Some (Marie) have suspicions about Sunbeam's heritage, but then again, some (Marie) are always suspicious. In any case, all of the residents of the Outpost have enough sense not to mention such a sensitive issue in front of either of the founders. Again, Copernicus is not someone you cross.
