If anyone were to point at Sundrop and go "this is the Compass' founder", they would most likely not be believed by anyone except the clan's own members, for who would expect the reclusive, anxious Fae to be one to rule over a whole clan? Sundrop herself would like to know that too, if she was being honest. When she left the nest she'd have never thought herself capable of running a clan at all, let alone a large one, but here she is.

But while Sundrop had never expected to hold a position of power such as this, her partner was significantly less surprised. She was a master in only managing to recognise her own negative traits, even though she also had many positive ones.

I'm a coward, she'd say. I'm selfish and anxious and rude and I worry too much.

You're sympathetic, he'd say. You're smart and humble and neat and careful. And I'd love you even if you were only a selfish, rude, anxious coward who worried too much.

And for all her doubts, she was incredibly competent when things came down to it. Sundrop was the queen of organisation (though she'd never feel comfortable calling any grand title her own), always capable of finding the exact information needed and capable of sorting piles of paperwork that would make a lesser dragon faint in mere hours.
