keeping this at the bottom here until I know what to do with it.
Hidden away far up the coldest of mountains lives the wisest of dragons. Some say he's nothing but a myth, some say he's as old as time itself, a true Ancient One.
In order to reach his domain one have to prove their worth trough a series of challenges, both physical and mental. If one where to succeed they may ask anything in the universe and get a correct answer, all from when the weather will get better to the true meaning and depth of the stars. However if one where to fail at any of the challenges to get those answers, their soul would be forever lost and wander the cold mountains for all of eternity.
Ori may be small but he is the bravest youngster anyone have ever seen. Climbing his way to the Ancient One's lair was no easy task, but low and behold; here he is.
Looking up at the glorious tundra and his warm smile he no longer felt afraid, but home. The gentle smile and welcoming eyes of the Ancient One reminded him of none other than King Serlon himself, the kindest dragon of all! But how was that possible, the Ancient one is.. well, ancient! But then again, no one really knows how old the king is, all they know is that he's always been around since the beginning of it all..
All these questions inside Ori's mind made his real question, the reason he came to this place, slowly fade until it no longer mattered. The Ancient One noticed the confusion on the young one's face and gave a soft laugh.
"I know my tales say only one question may be asked, but many of the things they tell about me are just that; tales." He takes a step aside and gestures the small dragon further into the warmth of the lair. "Come, let us step away from the stormy weather and have a lengthy conversation. I shall answer your every question, young one."
The main question that was now on the young one's mind was how the Ancient One and the Winter King were connected. After some thought and a long silence as the little nocturne patiently waited for an answer, the big tundra finally gave it.
"Let me tell you a story as old as time." The Ancient one straightened his back, ready to tell a story that could take a while.
"Once upon a time there was nothing but ice and shadow battling etch other in a storm which covered all of the land. This fight went on for ages and life had a hard time grow in the cold and dark world they were given. Then one day the spirit of the ice grew tired of the constant battle and asked for a truce with the spirit of the shadow. Knowing that the fight could never truly be won, the shadow accepted and they both settled down. Shortly after the sun shone upon the land once again and life started to prosper. It was then the ice and shadow could take a good look at etch other and realize they were not so different, but more alike than they could imagine.
The two spirits became the closest of friends for what felt like a lifetime, they never had to be alone." A faint smile appeared briefly on the tundra's face. "In time that friendship faded as the days grew ever darker. The spirit of shadow had secretly been plotting to take over the lands and cast it in eternal shadow. To avoid starting another storm the spirit of ice split the earth to create a lonely island to which the the shadow was banished. Ever wander on, never to be seen again." The expression on the tundra's face was saddened, it seemed like it hurt him to tell this tale in a way the young nocturne wouldn't understand. After a moment of silence the tundra continued.
"Throughout the years to come the shadow spirit would do everything in his power to escape the banishment, eventually this would tire the spirit of ice greatly. The ice took a piece of his own soul and formed it into an eternal being like the spirit himself, and placed this new watcher on the edge of the land to guard it from the shadow while the spirit of ice went into a very long and deep slumber."
The young one's eyes where big and staring at the tundra in awe.
"Woah, you're a watcher?" he looked in an excited voice, a bit confused by this story he had just been told. A big smile and came across the face of the Ancient One as he laughed softly at the puzzled young dragon. Having company around and someone to talk to is something the gracious tundra had sorely missed.
