Personality
  • Honorable and charming.
    quartz finds it easy to speak with dragons he's never met, and many dragons similarly find him a great conversationalist. he's easy to get along with, and strong of morals.
  • Thoughtful and considerate.
    he tried often to make note of affinities dragons held. sweets, or precious gems, or calligrapher pens. he was one for gift giving, in his youth. as he aged he used his knowledge to help inform others of the perfect gift to give.
  • Paternal and guiding.
    although quartz never took on a lifelong mate, he has always been very fond of children and mentoring. he was always quite delighted when hatchlings would come visit. he always tried to make time for them.
  • Foolish and trusting.
    even when wary, he is not always entirely willing to withhold faith in others. it has cost him much.
History
Quartz was born on Hoverview Vale; where he was reared by a sole parent. Among the floating isles, he found he had a knack for simple combat. He would wield a blade and practice after his daily lessons. He found the centaur beastclans that inhabited the isles curious, and would study skirmishes with youthful zeal.

Eventually, he becomes a footsoldier for the kingdom. His kind but firm nature made him popular; and he rose the ranks to eventually become garrison head. He holds this position for a long time.

He retires after over a century of service. He had been at the side of countless reigning monarchs. When he is relieved of his duty, permitted retirement, he passes the role to Gaol, the watchful imperial.

His retirement is tragically short. When the kingdom collapses, he is not there to witness it. He adopts a child of his own, sweet, small, rolling Marble.
