GIOVANNI
|| Kelp Tender || The Gondolier ||
"Unbeknownst to most, I am well-versed in the art of battle. Allow me to aid your clan any way I can."

It is odd to ever believe a gondolier could do battle, yet it is true! Giovanni came from a close-knit family devout to the Tidelord. In their eyes, nothing is more honorable than serving the water flight, and it was in everyone's interest to train and better themselves for their inevitable calling. Yet, that passion for battle did not pass onto young Giovanni. Or it did, at first. The strongest of his birth clan, his resourcefulness knew no bounds and he would catch the attention of all who witnessed him in combat. Still, despite all this, his taste for glory and treasure faded with each passing day. In the end, just as a mountain stream joins the riverbed below, Giovanni calmed and grew disinterested with his upbringing.

At first it was his parents, then his siblings and cousins. They grabbed this inevitable destiny by the claws and left proudly to serve this higher calling. All had left but his distant grandparents whom were scattered all across Sornieth. The battered warrior then decided on the day before he was to join them, he fled from home in search of these relatives. Giovanni knew not where they lived, nor what they became, but he held onto this excuse to postpone his fate. He toured the country in search of something to keep him rooted to the land. And yet, there was no mate for him to court, no clan to offer his services to. He truly was left without a purpose to complete him.

On starless nights, restless wanderers would find a magnificent garnet dragon gazing up at the moon's pale features... begging for guidance. It was the only constant in the warrior's life, his anchor that gave Giovanni the power to refuse the Tidelord's influence. He did not wish to be a simple tool for his god, but he wanted nothing more than to be useful once more. He fought so hard to not fall victim to the Sea of One Thousand Currents' tantalizing call. Yet, to the sea he returned.

The second journey through his homeland, however, was more memorable than his entire life prior. Every water dragon was busily preparing for the Saturnala in celebration of his majesty the Tidelord. By sheer happenstance, Giovanni was asked to assist in preparations Delighted he was offered a job, he agreed instantly. Despite the Skydancer's isolation, a natural charisma hid his past perfectly. He made friends with several gondoliers along the way, passing by daily with small portions of food to help with their day, he even took many tours with them until the entire city was as easy to recall as his favorite songs. And eventually he was asked to become one due to his familiarity of Levitos and the gondoliers. Truly, Giovanni enjoyed such a calm career choice for the short time he partook in the practice. many a face showed him kindness, and he in turn made the trip as memorable as possible for all who passed by.

Sometimes he would serenade for his guests, other times he entertained the most colorful of souls. And on particular year, was introduced to Octantis, Faryelle, and Nils. Nils was a dramatic bard while Octantis seemed rather Roguish. And something about a Bubbling Goblin... If he recalled correctly. He had such fun on this tour, Giovanni decided it best to once more tour the world, this time with Nils the Bard. And that was how he came across the Stormchasers. A curious bunch far too deep in their own plans, with the most pleasant of homes.
