Baxter specializes in medications and frequently collaborates with Error to make the perfect concoction for ill dragons.
Initially Baxter seems stoic and almost menacing, but in reality he is very compassionate and cares deeply for injured and sick dragons, however, if one is well he has a hard time socializing at first.

One day the night guard Lysander, son of the clan leader Vance, came in gravely injured from a battle with a roguish thief raiding the clan treasure hoard. Previously Baxter had been too shy to talk much with the princely skydancer, but when Lysander was on death's doorstep he stepped up and diligently nursed him back to health. During that time the two developed a bit of an awkward relationship which lead to a romantic involvement. Strangely, now another guard, Zayin, seems to loathe Baxter. Throughout his relationship with Lysander, Baxter learned to open up and became much more self confident. He now often greets familiar dragons with a warm smile.

As the clan grew more dragons needed medical attention than Baxter could supply, thus he took up an apprentice, Scythe. Baxter had traveled to the nearest trading post and set out looking for a potential student. He came upon a young dragon looking for work and after a series of small tests deemed him worthy. Over time, the two developed a close relationship as Baxter earned the shy dragon's trust. After the apprenticeship ended the two became partners at the care center, however the two have different medicinal styles. Baxter much prefers natural medicine and magic, whereas Scythe often collaborates with Gidget to perform technological healing and experimental treatments.
