mate: Oropimente | PAIR RANGE

"We owe it to our clanmates, they took care of us and we must do the same for them; if that means to no longer share food or roof with them...I can live with that, this place can be a home as well"

Obtained as an egg unknowingly by Napoleon as payment for a decoration work that he initially planned to discard until everyone pointed out at him the value of what he was paid with. He became engaged in keeping the egg safe and healthy even though he remained slightly upset about not obtaining a proper payment for his work and also swearing to slam that annoying customer to a rock if they dared cross his path again, that would be the last time he did work out of being kind to a fellow windling... .

Napoleon and Caiatra kept the egg at their quarters instead of keeping it at the nesting cave inside the lair, where they promised each other the well being of the hatchling that would eventually come from the egg. And so they did.

Few days later, the egg hatched into a young female with bright and vivid blues and reds and a peculiar reddish yellow which seemed to be encased within the hatchling's belly, this caught Napoleon's attention as it looked like no golden coloration he would commonly see in in a dragon but he was achingly familiar with in his work, under Caiatra's request, he kept his assumptions silent and for a few days he would believe he was just imagining an issue where there was none. But all changed as time went on.
At first it was troubling as few dragons within the clan presented themselves sick after spending considerable amounts of time near the hatchling (Ziye reporting with a nauseous sensation and some sort of skin allergy reaction, June, and some others also were left feeling sick for days with various ailments, some itch and decoloración of scales among with lesser injuries). As plenty of the infections were all narrowed to the extended exposing to this hatchling in particular, both Caiatra and Napoleon grew worried of what might be their adoptive daughter's fate if the leaders were to know what was happening within the lair; they quickly gathered around the clan's healers but none held a plausible answer to their dilemma (Terra sensing ill energies only attributed to does who practiced dark arts, Edward pointing out that maybe the sickness originated as a sort of curse from the former owner of the egg, Gerome stating that maybe the "sickness" was already inside the egg from way before it was even in the former dragon's grasp and that it's true parents were the holders of a similar sickness - that was the most accepted, but it did not give insight on what the sickness was-); in the lack of proper answers, both parents left the lair in search of someone who could cure the illness in order to save the youngling from a sure exiling off the lair.

Rejalgar is a dragon with quite the issue to deal with. At first glance she looks normal, however due to an unknown reason her encapsuled belly and lower body holds a grainy mineral that ranges from a bright red to yellow that while it looks daunting at first it is only the first link in a chain of trouble; as the time goes, the longer one is exposed to her, one is sure to feel sick at their stomach or a headache to sensing allergic reactions in general to later feeling thoroughly overwhelmed by being near her, all of this originated by the exposure to the glowing belly. Taking all of this into consideration, Rejalgar can only assume that a total of certain days being under all that, a dragon may die at her feet if exposed too long and she lives in a constant fear of letting that happen. hopelessly recurring to covering herself as much as possible in order to lower risk of intoxication and also isolating herself from even her parents just so they too are safe.

Toxic Pigments (Parent lore)

Both of these dragons were born with an anomaly on their genetics, where their bodies (through te capsule gene they have) shed mixes of chemicals that eventually concentrate and crystalize into ore that is grinded to an either yellow-ish gold (in Oropimente's case) or red-orange toned gold (in Realgar's case), that they expel from their mouth at any moment notice- this in order to not overload themselves of the toxic stuff-, however they refuse to use it as an aiding method in their hunting as, despite being inmune to their poison, it leaves their food with an unsavory sour taste. Despite the mineral's creation taking place inside a confined space deep in the gut, one is able to see for themselves how the toxic dust gathers just bellow the neck and belly in a bright showcase (which turns to be a safe self-defense system).

Their bodies are naturally inmune to the very arsenic they make, however the rest of the lair is not as lucky, as prolonged exposure to the capsuled dragons causes a range of illness, from body pains to vomit to -thankfully not yet- death. It's by this reason that this couple chose to isolate themselves from the main lair and set home near the vicinity of the Artisan's Ward -a place used by the craftmen of the lair to make their produce and/or live-.
Here, they established a small home of their own and, in agreement with Ward dragons and nearby clans, became first kind providers of the toxic ores of their namesakes, which prove to be useful in many ways they didn't knew about.

The future holds promise for this pair as they have found ways to live a peaceful life despite the harshness of their condition, they have chosen to start a family on their own.
