..........“...Ah. I see. A new face. I wonder how long we’ll have your company before you leave. If you’ve talked to Lana already, you should already know your time here is finite. Regardless of how long or short your stay ends up being, it is but a matter of time before you leave.”

“Well, I suppose you’d want to get settled now. Me? I won’t get all mysterious with you like my Lana tends to do. Let’s just say some dragons have such prolonged stays that they end up becoming mated and starting a family with another dragon that happens to reside here at the time. I protect the little ones when their parents leave after realizing their path.”

“Why the look? I understand it may seem unreasonable of us to keep the little ones when their parents leave, but the inn follows a very strict set of rules and they must be upheld. In fact, the truth of the matter is that many of the dragons who departed never took their offspring with them. I merely look after them until they’re able to leave themselves.”

“...Hmph. If you’re determined to see me as the villian, then I suppose there’s no stopping you. Do as you wish. If you want, you can always talk to the others instead. Hopefully, you’ll have a pleasant stay… Heh heh heh…”

....................Yukro, the Provider

....................Yukro, the towering Guardian, looms over most of the inn’s occupants with an air of ancient authority. He, alongside Lana, are seen as the assumed owners of the inn, as none would question their say in any matters regarding the strange establishment, and the other innkeepers tended to defer all final judgments towards the two Guardians. Although much less sociable and outspoken as his female counterpart, Yukro is, nonetheless, respected and revered amongst both the younger and older occupants of the inn.

While Lana manages most internal affairs regarding the inn, Yukro takes charge of the more external affairs: Namely, repelling the creatures that tended to lurk within the Starwood Strand so the inn’s occupants would be safe from danger. Occasionally, dragons who strayed too far from the inn and were led back to the establishment by the Guardian would retell wild tales in starstruck awe of how Yukro conducted himself in battle- He and the Imperial Maximus make quite the terrifying and effective duo in all forms of strategy and combat.

Despite his tough, rugged and worn exterior, however, there did appear to be two things that were effective in convincing the mighty Guardian to let down his defences, even if only for a brief moment. The first was, unsurprisingly, the Innkeeper Lana. If asked, some of the older, more knowledgeable inhabitants of the inn will undoubtedly tell you of the love, though somewhat waning in passion, which the two Guardians shared, their devotion holding firm and true despite the many long centuries of wear and tear.

The second- and this came as a surprise to most- were hatchlings. Perhaps it was the way in which they stared with such wonder and curiosity at the things around them, no matter how small or minute. Perhaps there was just something about their unsuspecting, trusting nature that moved the giant Guardian so. Whatever the reason, Yukro’s exterior shell simply appeared to soften and melt in the presence of the inn’s younglings. An unexpected, yet tender and emotional sight to behold, that much was certain.
