A B O U T
Born a nocturne in the Sunbeam Ruins, Rihak learned distrust early. So many were wary of him, after all - he was no doubt a trickster like his Shadow ancestors, they said, despite the yellow shine of his eyes. Nobody rejected him outright, but he wandered from town to town anyway, never happy enough to settle down nor committed enough to learn a trade. Instead he learned the art of a clever word, an opportune moment taken, a guilt trip. More often than not he'd be turned away, but a soft heart gave easily, gave enough for him to get by. Still, it was more struggle than it was success, and he knew the distinctive marks of a nocturne were the cause. Eager to remove himself from that taint, he always kept alert for breed change scrolls - but he did always have expensive taste, for someone who'd never held onto money for more than a few days. Guardian, fae, tundra, mirror - all were easy to find, but they wouldn't change him for the better. He waited until he saw a skydancer scroll tucked among the others in a back-alley marketplace stall. The sleight of hand was easy. So was activating the scroll. The transformation? Not so much. The spell, poorly crafted, possibly malicious, backfired. Rihak's magic twisted him into a new form, but it never stopped eating at him. Now, just as alone as he's ever been and warped by malignant magic, he seeks a cure - and maybe a new start.
