Freakshow was born to loving parents. He was coddled and loved, so much so his clan worried he’d never leave. He was named Jack then, and he already showed signs of being an amazing mage one day. He loved it all too, being told of how amazing he was. The wonderful thing about him was not only was he talented, he was humble. He never let it get to his head too much, always trying to make his siblings feel just as special as he was told to be. This did make him leaving hurt, even though everyone knew he had to leave. He needed to see the world, experience things he never could in a simple shadow lair. With a heavy yet excited heart, he left. He didn’t get too far though, enjoying his home element for a while. But soon he realized it was smarter to travel, and forced himself out of Shadow. It would be a long time till he returned. He soon learned people loved his magic. He could do all kinda of tricks, things like copying one’s self, teleporting, and fireworks. He lived to impress, soon finding traveling got easy if you were preforming.

He learned all kinds of things; sure he couldn’t always do them because some magic was done by certain elements only, but he loved watching it all. He took everything in, enjoying it all too. Jack also seemed to be well liked wherever it was he went, quickly fitting in with the group of dragon mages. Thanks to him and a few other new recruits they quickly became known. Jack made sure to keep his acts true to his homelands, even dressing the part to keep the audience on their toes. He did learn many things indeed, but one was that he loved the spot light. Not only was it nice to have on, it also made him feel powerful. He made sure never to listen to the crazy ideas of ambition, but it was rather hard. To keep himself from doing anything too rash he’d be asked to take a night off and fly to clear his head. This worked for a long time one night but, one night it didn’t. He was back from flying when he saw interesting dragons entering a the big tent, one he had never seen before.

When he entered, he was greeted by odd mages. They used magic he’d never seen before, being able to do things he never could. Some were shadow mages as well, their magic catching Jack’s attention. He knew in some back part of his mind to run, but instead he approached them. He asked them to train him, their magic luring him in. At first they refused, Jack turning to begging. After a week ,at least, they allowed him to learn their secrets. He learned their magic was Dark Magic, which was illegal and highly dangerous. Jack didn’t care, it’s properties too great to him. They taught him everything they knew, almost everything. He soon could tap into the darkness, and summon all kinds of things, one being a demon he summoned to stay around. He called her Amaya, and at first she hated him. She was forced to stay because of a bond he made with her, tying her to this world instead of hers.

He did his best to keep his usage of his new powers low, but soon he used his magic every day. The thing he never learned was that this kind of magic had repercussions. He didn’t notice them, and never would, but Amaya did. At first she didn’t care one bit, but soon she noticed him losing what made Jack the sweet dragon he was. She told him finally that he had to stop using Dark magic, this making him lash out at her. He punished her severely, but she continued to try to make him stop. Finally he removed his bond with her, sending her away. She left, crying for once in her life as she did. She didn’t go far though, keeping an eye on him from the shadows. When she finally left, he did something stupid in his upsetment. He summoned a demon far stronger than her to replace her, but the demon took him over. It caused all kinda of torment using his face, making sure he’d suffer long after it left. Then it left him.

Amaya rushed to him when the demon left, too scared for him to stand and watch anymore. When Jack awoke and saw her, rage filled his eyes. He shoved her away, curing her for leaving him. She tried to explain, telling him she was sorry. She then used his name, which angered the imperial. He grabbed her by the throat and spoke the words that crushed her. He told her Jack had died, that she let him die. He then dropped her, putting on a necklace that forced her to always be by his side. He renamed himself Freakshow, and continued where the demon left off. Deep down Jack maybe still inside, but one wouldn’t know it. Every now and than his conscious tries to kick in, but he always shoves it down. Freakshow has done many awful things, enough to leave him an outlaw and murderer, but he loves this.
