Zaomon

As the old Augur Zaomon felt himself growing weak, he knew himself to be dying. He called for the last of his brood to still live in the clan, HongMeifeng. His much larger daughter looked at her father with much saddness as some forgotten curse stole his youth. Zaomon looked Meifeng in the eyes, the only family he had left after the death of his mate, and asked her to find a hatchling. It could not be from this clan, he had to be born with eyes as pink as his. A Nocturne would be preferred over all. Young enough to barely know his old clan. HongMeifeng granted the last wish of her aging father, buying a small Nocturne male from the Auction House with a bit of stolen treasure. She brought him to her father's side where the aging Nocturne strengthened himself to bring the young one under his wing for a few days.

Soon thereafter, the Augur died, leaving all of his belongings to the hatchling. As the child grew up, it was only HongMeifeng who realized that the hatchling was becoming more and more like her father. As he donned the bright purple magic that had made Zaomon so unique, it seemed as if her father had never left. Indeed, the others in the clan seemed to have forgotten what had happened to the sickly Nocturne at all, even calling the new hatchling Zaomon! Zaomon had successfully reborn himself into the hatchling, giving him all of the Augur's memories and skills. A quiet spell over the clan prevented them from remembering that the old had died.

However, it could not rework Meifeng's mind, as she had had too much experience with the hatchling. HongMeifeng was the only one with which the hatchling, now Zaomon, could be himself around. The trickiness of the spell confuses Meifeng greatly, but she still loves and supports Zaomon like family, even if they no longer share genes.
